:eek: Superman escaped from the school playground today :eek: how will I settle now? :( urgent meeting arranged with the out reach service tomorrow. The "what ifs" are too much to think about. Maybe we need to change his nickname to Houdini :rotfl:

  • I have two boys with ASD, but all three have ADHD. One of my first scary Houdini experiences was when we were stationed in Northern Ireland on a base with a 6 ft fence. My oldest boy was 4 1/2 and was being looked after by a childminder. He was in the garden one minute and gone the next, he had scaled a 6 ft garden fence and was found 1/2 mile away on the base. Lucky that there was a security fence preventing him from going on the busy roads out of camp.

Needless to say he was transferred to a nursery shortly afterwards. He joined his first school at 5 and was dx with ADHD and ASD within 6 months, also given a 35 hr statement of SEN. He was expelled from his first school at 5 1/2. Not a good start.

He is 16 now and so clever and polite. All the teachers love him and his younger brother who is so similar to him. It does get easier and I wish you luck with your special boy, they grow up so quickly.:)

Lovely to see you EAD and welcome. It is lovely to read about your boys and know the future maybe a bit calmer

Superman can't tell me why he escaped or how and school have no idea either which is infuriating when he has 1:1 support in his SEN for all breaks/lunch/ out door activities, it seems he hasn't been getting it after all :(

3 boys with ADHD you must be exhausted! I bet your always on the go :j:j

Big big hugs Mrs hinge, thankfully he is ok, for Superman :A

When the King first started nursery in mainstream before special school, he attempted to escape once but luckily the gates were locked. His teacher nearly had a heart attack :D chasing after him!

Sometimes the King would give a certain look directly at me and then peg it laughing. He must think I need to lose a few pounds! I have learnt to always wear flats and a cross over body bag.

Hope your feeling better Mrs Hinge xxx

Miss Hinge and her friends saw the dinner ladies frantically searching the playing field for him and they helped join in the hunt for him, he were found in the car park so he has either scaled a 8ft fence or legged it out of reception. He is like an olympic runner, i have no chance of catching him if he goes and legs it so i have to keep hold of him until we get to the park then he can run laps and de-stress. Is the main reason i drive the 10minute walk to school :o

I have a large vodka, for my nerves you see, the stress is oozing out of me with every sip :rotfl:

Mr Hinge has found a spanking chest of drawers in pink for miss hinges new loft room in the local paper for a pricely sum of £15 so he is on his way to get them :j:j

Superman is clinging to me like glue completely unaware of his earlier adventure with a glass of APPLE juice, new fix, munching and a green apple :j changing is on the turn i can tell it may be the calm before the storm.

How is the King stripes? Did you have a good weekend?

    :beer:cheers Mrs Hinge.

Glad superman is not affected from todays event. Face of an angel they have :A

The King thoroughly enjoyed the Justin and friends show live although he didn't move for the first 20 minutes in shock but he got up to dance after. He is still laughing today :j
Missy Stripes on the other hand has been a terror and has had many tantrums today very loudly in the middle of town , wish she had a volume button, its either loud or screeching
Does Superman have a one to one assistant?
