I heard from other parents they are great, we tend to use a small pillow on the King as he gets warm very easily and it does the trick....most of the time. Are there any sensory libraries by you, they usually loan them for free.

The king is giving Mr Stripes a hard time at the moment, its bath time. I would help but I am [STRIKE]on here[/STRIKE] busy tidying downstairs :p

I will have a look in to sensory libaries, not something I know of around here but then these things are well hidden! I have found a tutorial on how to make one so will have a go, I have lots of fleece and Flannette fabric and ribbons just need to get something to "weight" it, I believe ball bearings are the way forwards so I will look for the best prices.

Hope Mr Stripes survived the Kings bath time in one piece last night :D I bathed the boys last night and had the battle of getting them out :o then mopping up the flooded bathroom from all the splashing and frolicking!

What are you up to today?!

Good day Mrs hinge. it is a lovely and sunny day here in Wales.

We have had a good night with the king for a long long time, he slept from 10pm till 6am without waking :j I am feeling energised for a change and have done some cleaning and hoovering in the house. After, we ventured to the local petting farm and the little Stripes loved it, the King did some hysterical laughing which is always a joy. They had ice cream as a treat and now we are home cooking scampi and chips for lunch.

Some of the charities would have a sensory library and the outreach team which should support superman at school tend to have these resources, give them a try. The kings school lent me a [STRIKE]bog[/STRIKE] massage brush to help calm him. It was [STRIKE]rubbish[/STRIKE] not very effective so i returned it. He has trampoline sessions on those proper big trampolines have really helped to reduce his stress and better his core muscles.

    to Mr Hinge!

I understand about the costs to keep superman happy, we have started on a little fish tank project to see if it helps the king. He is not pushed but Missy stripes is loving them

We are yet to hear from the outreach service since Superman had his MDT meeting in Feb, I'm thinking they are holding of until june when he turns 5. OOOOOOOO I do tell a fib they sent me a leaflet in the post about a teaching course for Mr Hinge and I to attend to [STRIKE]make us better parents[/STRIKE] understand how to manage Autism :rotfl:
    to Mr Hinge!

Mr Hinge will be finding himself divorced and homeless shortly if he carries on and I wish that I were joking but in all honesty I am serious:(

Superman hated our Bi Orb tank we had he would scream everytime we went in the dining from been a newborn, we worked out he didn't like the humming of the pump!

It it so amazing to here the boys giggle and laugh with joy it melts my heart every time :A:A

Superman is out in the garden after a major melt down over the TV  he is planting seeds in the veg patch :rotfl:it will be veg plot jackpot soon enough!

  • Hi Mary/Stripes and everyone else!

Mary do you have a costco or similar near you? Just thinking about Ribena in particular, perhaps bulk buying from a warehouse type place will work out cheaper. They also do meat/veg etc in bulk. Xx

Hi Plmbl, How are you today?

I think I may have a macro somewhere but don't have a card..... something to have a look in to thankyou :)

Ribena costs us so much money it is crazy, sometimes @sda have the big bottles at £2 each so we buy 15-20bottles to stock up but they are full price £4.99 and have been for the last 6months or so :(

  • Have you thought about emailing/writing to the manufacturers of Ribena telling them how much your son loves their products? I've never done it myself but I know of people who do this regularly and they usually get money off coupons/vouchers for freebies or freebies themselves.

I'm ok thank you, a bit hormonal but like that advert for feminine products "Ground floor, lift going up", my mood has lightened in the last half hour :rotfl:. How are you? Xx

You are a fab yummy mummy Mrs Hinge and doing excellent considering the circumstances. I hope It works out with Mr Hinge, it really helps mentally and physically when the Misters are on board. I am lucky with Mr Stripes, he is a hard working hubby even at home. On his days off he'll let me have a lie as I always do the night shift with the King.

Try [STRIKE]pestering[/STRIKE] giving outreach a call. Keep them on their toes. I swear I hear eyeballs rolling whenever I call the King's teacher and therapists :rotfl:

:A for superman and his seed planting.

I describe my DS as concentrated !! He's on the Spectrum somewhere / I'm veering towards PDA bu eventually the "experts" will tell us. He's also coeliac so I feel your shopping bill !

Keep an eye on approved foods - they sometimes have gf stuff on there -a few weeks ago 1kg pizza base mix for 99p and it tastes "normal" - I refuse to cook different meals so we Are all gf. Do Iceland / farm foods do Ribera ? I.m sure I've seen it n home bargains - we only have it in winter and have it hot.
