    Compo cleared today :j

I have over the last few days finally heard about our income support :T re-jiggled the direct debits so they are spread out across the month a few each week so we should never have a supper skint week!

Superman has been at home most of the week, projectile vomit with in half hour of going to school.... I am sure it is anxiety but everytime he is sick we get a 48hour exclusion period  He is having a whale of a time at home :rotfl: He helped me do some shopping today......

    Mr H is having money
Missy Hinge is a mixture of monster high, smellies, stationary, arts and crafts and the usually girlie tat
Superman vintage power rangers  some play do, and stationary bits
Master Hinge fireman sam everything :rotfl:

the few children we buy for are getting pj's or onsies, the older ones iTune vouchers.

the ladies smellies, the men a bottle of something, except my dad- he is getting a jar of nothing!!

my BFF is having some 100% pure wool that I hand dyed with some other knitting/crocheting goodies in a type of hamper.

only one or 2 things left to buy and most of it wrapped so not looking too shabby at all :rotfl:

Busy few days dodging the sickness and lurgey, I still feel as rough as a bader'sar$£ but ploding as we do.

Missy Hinge preformed at the local concert hall for the lord Mayor's christmas concert :A:A

in other news........ Superman is to play apart in his christmas play :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j!

    How is everyone?!

  • Managed to miss all your sickness posts while DH was having an episode, sorry to hear you've all been poorly but glad things seem more positive now. Hope Superman stops gaining 48hr exclusions though!

Hurrah to compo clearance and Income Support :T. Brilliant news about the part in the play too :j Xx

  • Great news about compensation and Income Support.

I don't think it is wrong to send a token gift for them all - at least they can eat the sweets and dispose of the tub so there's no extra things to be stored away/dusted for years to come.

Presents all wrapped, cards all written and I am officially done for christmas!! :j:j

we don't go over board for food so it will be the usual roast dinner for us, will a few extra trimmings like pigs (no blanket :p) and the obligatory Brussels. We have a turkey crown in the freezer and will get some profiteroles for pud!

I haven't brought anything for Xmas yet, we don't really do cards although we have brought relative a special one.

Mrs H - would you like to come and help me?

I have the wish lists from the kids, it just needs buying :rotfl:

We don't go overboard for Xmas dinner either, the meat eaters do have pigs in blankets though plus I do honey coated carrots and parsnips and I make my own stuffing (last year it was because we realised that DH is intolerant to onion and this year I am gluten free so I will do the same recipe but with gluten free bread)

We do have dessert but this is usually 4 hours after dinner as we are all full and this doubles as tea/supper so no need for a buffet tea:T

I send about 20 cards at most but everyone gets multipack ones, no £3 a go cards here

I would love to help you EE, if only you lived nearer! This year is a extra big effort to make christmas extra special. Growing up Christmas was always horrendous, living in a family were so many members hate each other meant constant fights, bickering and sniping. I have never really enjoyed christmas because of this and the memories have always tainted it for me. I realised that unless I can get past this then my children will grow up not enjoying christmas either and I want them to feel the magic that I never did.

I have the wish lists from the kids, it just needs buying :rotfl:
I have ordered a lot online this year and had it delivered :o my anxiety is really unsteady at the moment and crowded shops really don't help

We love honey glazed parsnips, we will have GF Y Puds as always but buy a packed mix stuffing and Missy H doesn't eat it. Maybe I ought to look at some home made  GF tastes vile

No such luck here, we have lunch around 2pm and by 6.30pm the little hinge's have grumbly bellies before bed :rotfl: it is usually something on toast, sarnies or cereal :D

My lurgey has presented as a full blown snot fest. I sound like Darth Vada and look like rudolph! Classy Lady.

Today I am heading out to buy some new trainers for the gym, 2 new pairs of jeans (i'm down to my last pair and they are getting alittle baggy, the upside of a grieving can't face food diet) and maybe some silky undies for my child free birthday night away ;)

  • Sorry to hear that past Xmases were not good - but brilliant that you are moving on from that and giving your children the Xmas you didn't have.

I will order online as well - I hate shops. Even though I work in the town centre I will try to avoid all shops from now on. If a shop in town has the best price then I can at least go there as soon as it opens and before the hoards descend.

The stuffing recipe I use is this one - http://www.waitrose.com/content/waitrose/en/home/recipes/recipe_directory/c/chestnut_porcinimushroomstuffing.html

I use normally mushrooms fried for a few minutes rather than porcini, I don't use leeks as DH cannot have those. I also just use normal cheese.
The ciabatta I used to buy ciabatta rolls when they were reduced and freeze them, as I say this year I will use gluten free seeded bread.

If my kids get hungry they have their selection boxes to eat:rotfl:
