I am in Huddersfield, in a village that's a bit high up . Determined to finally get off me bum and plant something instead of just reading about it. Just wondered how everyone is getting on in Yorkshire. We've just started planting things for our new garden this year.
Last Sunday we started off 2 lots of peppers and auberignes in the airing cupboard. Had a little look this morning and a couple of the aubergines have just popped their heads up. I ordered some extra pepper and aubergine seeds which arrived this week so might pop those in with the others too.
Also plnated lots of herbs, soem cauliflowers and some lettuce / mixed leaves in the cold frame outside.
Not really usre where veryhting is going to go this year as it's our first year. I think it's going to be trial and error for the first part. We have a raised bed in the patio to the back so will be planting a herb garden one end of that and probably lots of salad. Need to get out and have a dig to see how deep it is before I decide what else can go in there.0 -
I've literally done nothing. Following my lead will mean you spend all spring/summer procrastinating, and then get grumpy in the autumn when everyone else is showing off.
I still think it's a bit early to be planting things, so am spending most of my time day dreaming to be honest. I've got a damson tree and quince tree coming at some point, my strawberry runners look OK so I need to plant them out properly, but that's about it.
I'm hoping to persuade OH to build me a little poly tunnel so I can get some tomatoes going. Am not holding out hope though.
I've got some teeeny tiny dried chilis from last year - any idea what I can do with them?
