I just phoned john lewis to ask them to price match a Sony KDL26S2030U which is £499 on empire and they said the don't match online dealers. Also the 10% code expired on 25th June.
JL don't match online prices but in regards to Empire Direct they are both on line and have actual shops.
Check the Empire site for the nearest store to the JL you are in contact with and tell them they have it in store.
The only problem with the JL price match is the item has to be instore and clearly marked at that price. If there is no price on the item JL won't ask what the price is even if it is the cheaper price.0 -
i emailed the bluewater store and said i had seen it at empiredirect at that price and would they match it.. they emailed me back and said yes but i have to give them 3 days notice of when i wanted to collect the tv
unfortunatley i have been in hospital so have not gone and got it yet but hopefully next weekend i will .. cant wait lol

Found the Hanspree 32" as teleland
I think the YT model will suit my needs the PIP would be good I don't need 2 hdmi ports also the piano black will be a nightmare if my 18 month old gets his hands on it
Thinking of this one but unsure if it the right model? If it isn't where else sells this for around the 290 - 300 mark? THANKS
Hannspree 32’’ LCD HD TV - SUPER SALE ENDS THIS WEEKEND!!
Model #: XV32
RRP Price: £419.99
Sale Price: £299.95
from teleland.co.uk
Quick update:
I esquired about the Teleland model as it shows the older model on site and got this reply :
This is the JT01-E2 model, the latest from Hannspree.
Kind Regards
David Jones
Teleland Ltd

Which I was a little surprised by, so I sent him this :
Hi David
Thanks for your prompt reply, however I am now a little confused
it states in on the website that this is the XV32 model
The XV series http://www.hannspree.com/global/prod...9c66f9218&c=32
But your saying it is in fact not the model shown its the new JT01-E2 model difference being 2 HDMI ports better contrast Piano black but no PIP
Could you clarify this for me
So it's now looking like the newer model JT for £299.95 with a 5 year guarantee and free delivery, looking like the best deal on this so far, will post again once he has replied.
Even if I did want the older model LOL0 -
Just got back from Merry hill, and Empire direct didnt have the sharp 26" in stock. It was 379.99. I went into comet, and the same tv is there marked up at 499.99. When asked for help, i queried this price, becuase empire were selling it for 379.99. The women in comet said they will price match it, as long as empire had it in stock. Anyways, empire didnt have it in stock, but comet still let me have it for 379.99. When i went to pay, they have only charged me 362.90??? Oh well, its a saving i suppose!! I am now the proud owner of a sharp 26", and i recommend this telly!!!0

Crabman - this was a few weeks ago I think - MISCO did a very cheap price of £250 for this TV which is frankly ridiculous price...
I would monitor their website as they do have some cracking deals and with quidco 5% they are usually a little cheaper than competitors (and dare I say more reliable than others reading through this thread as well)
EBUyer also excellent and customer service has been very good but unfortunatley price has been a fraction higher and no quidco!!!
yes, it was MISCO. Was more like £248 after quidco. i was expecting it to be slightly less good than my CRT tv but it is better! if anyone sees a similar deal grabbit!0 -
£800 to spend.
Looking at a 37 inch Toshiba.
Started with the 37C3030 but decided that 1080i was better (37X3030). Now decided that 100Hz is better than 50Hz (37WLT68).
Is there any other Toshiba 37 inch tellies that washes the car or something?

Hi, we bought the 42X3030DB Toshiba 2 weeks ago and its great, we spent ages looking at loads of Tvs and decided this was one of the best, ordered it through Comet Click and Collect and it was £205 cheaper than in the store....so I can recommend Toshiba, we were going for the 37" originally but the price on the 42" was so good.....ADOPT DONT SHOP......🐕🐕🐕🐕0

Thanks burnham1. Is that Burnham-on-Sea?
I've found both the 37X and 37WLT at just under £800. The main difference seems to be 100Hz rather than 50Hz.
We have a 28 inch Toshiba CRT telly at the moment and just think that 42 inch might be a bit big for our cinema room.
It's the lounge really!

Just had the Misco 32" LCD (E2) delivered except it isn't the same one, the contrast is 750:1 (should be 1200:1) and brightness is 450 (should be 500). The model number is "YT07", whereas it should be "XV32". The actual set looks different to the one pictured on their site. It has only one HDMI input whereas the site says two.
Not happy, I'm going to call them up and get it collected, they'll pay the collection costs as this is their error for supplying an item which is different to that described, is that right? Or should I ask for a reduction as this is of inferior specification to the one I paid for.0
