    Just tell them you don't want to make a claim on the extended warranty. If it's just outside the 1 yr warranty period then make a claim under the sale of goods act.

    Hi, I assumed that the most recent call where the tv was taken away for a soak test was in fact over one year from the purchase date.

    If this is the case then it is too late to turn round and say that you don't want to claim, there has already been a call out within the five year warranty period.

    These warranties and usually run by/administered by insurance companies so once a call is registered on the warranty it's too late to about turn.

    Somebody has to pay for the call out !!
