We've got our winter gas bill

£446!!!!!!!!! Triple eek!! :eek: :eek::eek:

The electric bill's not here yet, but I'd hate to see how much the bills would be if we didn't have direct debit/online billing discount.

I really need to see how to make savings next winter.

Have you had yours through yet?

ETA Sorry, I just realised I've posted in completely the wrong place :)

    Ours isn't on all the time so we must be doing something wrong,
    last year's winter gas was £413.
    I think we need to get a bungalow, it must be cheaper?

    That's not triple then that's only 8% more than last year.

    Turn the thermostat down. Off or very low at night. Off when you are out and you will save a lot.

    I wouldn't be using it in the morning any more if you can stand the house just be mildly chilly for the half hour or so you are getting ready for work.

    Mine was excellent £234.55 including £55 dual fuel discount having said that it was only on about 4 hours a day; plus we both lost loads weight (I've froze me bollox off and she's froze her t1ts off :D)

    I know it's not triple last year's bill, I meant triple eek at the size of it.

    I have to have it on as hubby's quite poorly.

    That's a brilliant bill, I might try the 4 hour rule next year.

    My central heating boiler broke down in November and it wasn't fixed until a couple of weeks ago so probably the gas bill is going to be lower.

    From 1st December to 20th Feb, I make mine to be £115 (with Ebico, therefore easy calculation!). I'm in most of the day.

    I pay £70 monthly dual fuel and I'm hoping to get a rebate. At most I've had the gas CH on for an hour, morning and evening. Often not at all as I have been relying on my solid fuel stove.
