    Yep. My thinking would be that I'd call him to let him know his payment had arrived but for a greater amount than what was owed. Me being a nice honest person would offer to cash the postal order then refund the overpayment via cheque..... months later I've lost all £200 !

    Or

    I'd call him to say sorry but your payment didn't arrive in time and I have now reseold the tickets. Seems terrible that you've paid cash for the £200 postal order though, I tell you what, just so you can get your money back, I'll cash the postal order then send you a cheque for the full amount.... months later I've lost all £200 !!!

    He could be a real genuine guy who was desperate to go to the gig, money wasn't any object and he wanted to apologise sincerely for taking so long to pay up by sending me more dosh !!!!!
  • This scam is real, I've been done by it....almost happened twice.... bank transfers are just as unsafe by the way, thats what happened the second time to me...luckily the bank spotted it and froze my account.
