Postal Order Scam - was NPB strike...

I've had some !!!! messing me around and whilst I usually just forget about them, this one's really getting on my breasticles.

If I send a NPB strike, does this prevent them from leaving feedback ?

Ok, whilst I'm here, I'll ask for opinions if I may....

This guy bought some tickets from me on the 9th Feb and straight away said he would send a postal order the next day. No payment arrived. Reminders sent, no response. Checked his name and address, no name registered to address. Requested details from Ebay yesterday ( gig tomorro ), called telephone number and was surprised to hear that the number was correct. Assured me that payment would be sent via Special Delivery to arrive today. He later sent through a text with another delivery address ( no such name registered to this address either ). No payment has arrived this morning. Have now left messages on both contact numbers saying that I'm relisting. Have now relisted.

Are my girlie hormones clouding my judgement here ? :D
  • He has had well over a week to sort it. I think you should relist and NPB his butt. ;)
Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy. :p

If they haven't responded to the dispute you can close it givng them a strike but although if they try to neg you the rating will be removed but their feedback comment will still stand.
  • Thanks Flo Flo and morveryn :)

I wouldn't be worried about having a neg comment on display. I'd respond to it politely and I'm sure any comments potentially left by him wouldn't ring true to potential bidders after seeing my other feedback. Just as long as my rating isn't hit.
  • No going back now anyway... have just resold the tix !
  • At least you have resold them. I HATE NPB's!
  • Glad you resold hun :)

  • I think this guys' a nutter !!

So, I resold the tickets as I hadn't received payment as promised ( see above ). I rang the guy on both his numbers leaving a message to say that I hadn't received payment, that I would be re-selling and hoped he'd understand... blah, blah, blah. The next day he called me ( left a message ) saying that he had sent the money and could I return it when it arrives. Hmm...

So this morning a simple addressed envelope turned up, no return address, a simple 1st Class stamp and with a scrawled message saying 'Try Old ...... Road' ( they'd left the Old bit off my address ). Inside was a Postal Order for £200 with the original receipt from the Post Office which shows the hometown of this guy.

Now, I'm presuming that this is from that guy but apart from the town mentioned on the receipt I have no proof !

Why has he sent £200 when he only owed £126.10 ?!?!!?

    Why include his receipt ?!?!

Aarrrggghhhh, I thought I'd seen the last of this transaction !
  • Possibly a stolen/fraudulent postal order?
