Postal Order Scam - was NPB strike...

The receipt shows that it was paid by cash ?
Would you add the receipt though if you didn't want to be tracked ?0 -
Return the PO to him.
It was pointless to send the receipt, so that should probably be returned too.
An excellent lesson in how to be diligent when addressing mail...My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

I think I'll contact him saying that an unmarked payment has been recieved and could he confirm the total amount sent and the address used ? At least that way he should be able to confirm it's his payment !0 -
Can he get his money back ? Can you 'return' Postal Orders to the PO ?
If not, haven't I received payment and not provided the goods ?!?!? ( Even though I've not cashed it !! )0 -

Lol
I know what you mean... just worried about any implications. Could he not claim that I received payment but not provided the goods ?!?!? ( Even though I've not cashed it !! ) Though I guess he's no proof that he sent it ? If it was him that sent it ? Just feel he's trying to catch me out somehow ?! Why the excess payment ?!?!? Somethings bugging me and distracting me from what I should be doing this morning !!
helen_caslass, I need whatever you're on this morning, lol !0 -
Def scam now me thinks !
I was totally unaware of this one:
http://www.met.police.uk/fraudalert/section/cashback_fraud.htm
Would explain the last minute payment rush, extra cash offered, no email contact just phone contact etc.
I wouldn't mind sharing this with others. Any chance of changing the thread heading ? I can't see how to do it myself ?0 -

Edit your first post in this thread and there should be a box above the message where you can edit the title.

A scammer wouldn't send you genuine postal orders. What would be the point of the scam?
Ask the PO to tell you if they're real.My TV is broken!

The scam, as I understand it in this case ( I think
) is that they send you payment at the last minute so you're keen to close the deal, send you a fake postal order for more than you expect just to tempt you, you cash the postal order, and send the item.... then months later the Post Office inform you that the postal order was fake and demand their money back from you and not your buyer ! 0
