Cant afford fine.

Why so many trolls today?
My advice whether you take it or not is to completely ignore them. Yes it's issued by Park Smarter on behalf of the county council but they very rarely actually take any enforcement action for a £25 parking ticket. It's a gamble on your part but if you have no money then they don't get any.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I agree with pendulum. Strider was trying to come up with ways to be able to pay the fine! (Though I wasn't too impressed with the tone / language in parts of Strider's post.)
And I've got no idea what the person questioning you not being able to afford the fine but being able to afford to take your dog for a walk was on about.
If you borrow £25 from Wonga for three weeks you'll have to repay £36.82. If you're confident that you can pay this back next month then that would be better than waiting and paying the £50 fine.
But don't, don't, don't go down this route if there is a chance you won't be able to pay it back when you say you will!
[But obviously the best thing would be to not have to pay it, as you'd bought a ticket. Other people are better placed then me to advise on this.]0 -
Take it from her pocket money. That'll learn her.0

my thoughts are if they have the ticket and refused to return it, they wont offer any evidence to the adjudicator.
They wont want the issue bringing up of where the ticket is.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Once upon a time I got ticket supposedly for not displaying a pay & display slip. I always tuck them into a pocked on my tax disc holder; but it was mid winter and the windscreen steamed up with condensation.
There was no parking ticket attached to the windscreen/wipers, when |I returned; but fortunately I kept the the slip from the machine to use as a business expense.
3 - 4 weeks later the demand and threatening letters for the doubled penalty arrived from the local council - a London borough
By this time the thermo printed details had faded to the point of being unphotocopiable BUT I knew where I had parked from a diary/log I keep AND the slip had a preprinted serial number on it.
To keep a long story short, I eventually paid nothing, however if I costed myself on the time it took to not pay the penalty charge at London rates I was earning less than minimum wage and would not have bothered for £25.
All councils are now trying to raise more tax, it is not just Westminster that aims for an almost 24/7 policy. [Stop press Westminster has chickened out of its 24/7 proposals but if any of you are foolish enough to brave a central zone charge then £2.20 per hour when not moving, be aware that the resident parking kerb rules are NOT the same as the yellow line zones - or perhaps the new "read the notice" zones and always check the yellow flashes as well as the yellow lines and beware there are places like Cambridge and Covent garden where bollards come up out of the road to trap you inside.]
You must realise that you are paying TAX and it can only go up -
Perhaps it is time to invest in push bikes, they have no registration numbers any more, not even in Shanghai.
I always feel cheated when someone does not come back to report on the outcome, so here we have the outcome?
