HUGE batch of new handsets on zero cost deals for the very first time

Options
"zero cost deal" - a mobile phone contract package where the cashback on offer is equal to the cost of the handset and the total line rental over the minimum term of the contract.

For a long while now, the zero cost contract mobile landscape has been a little stale, with largely the same handset offers coming and going on various networks and tariffs. Well, it looks like everything's about to change as Phonebox Direct and Cool New Mobile launch the first salvo by releasing a whole new set of zero cost deals on Vodafone with a wide range of mid- & high-end handsets never before seen at this price-point.

All of the following deals are on Vodafone's 12 months Anytime 500 + 250 texts tariff (500 minutes & 250 texts for £35 per month) and the cashback is claimable in 5 parts after 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12 months.

The handsets on offer fall into one of two camps:

(1) those handsets that have never before been available at zero cost on any network. I shall label these as NEW TO ALL NETWORKS.

(2) those handsets that have been available at zero cost before on other networks but not yet on Vodafone. I shall label these as NEW TO VODAFONE.

NEW TO ALL NETWORKS

Nokia 3250
Nokia 5500 (grey)
Nokia N72 (black & pink)
Samsung E870 (silver/white)
Samsung E900
Samsung i300 (black/silver)
Samsung X820 (black)
Sony Ericsson Z710i (black)

NEW TO VODAFONE

Nokia 5300 (white/red, red)
Nokia 6280 (black)
Samsung D600 (chrome)
Samsung D800 (black & white)
Sony Ericsson K610i (silver)

The above historic information about zero cost handset/network combinations was compiled with the help of my new zero cost radar facility, which you can find by clicking HERE.

Finally, don't forget your Quidco cashback:

Phonebox Direct = £15
Cool New Mobile = £35

Please stay away from Cool New Mobiles guys. Apart from my own bad experience (which I admit was almost entirely my fault) this company have proven to be one of the more awkward and downright unreasonable ones from nearly all of the mobile affiliate companies. I have spoken to a lot of people who have been messed around by these guys, and read a lot of stories on blogs and search engines as well that show the same trend. Yes, they've got good deals and good handsets, yes, your handset will get to you on time, but if you're looking for a hassle free cashback solution, forget it.

Phonebox Direct on the other hand, great. No issues, great.

Thanks for the heads up - I desperately need more free minutes and this looks like a way of getting them. PD also have cash upfront deals as well.

I like the sound of this 400min deal but can you port your number? Thanks.

patwa: CNM and PBD are the same company with the same T and C's. Both are strict in the way you claim your cashback, but if you follow closely then both will pay out in the same way.

Lara: Yes you can port your number.

CNM and PBD allow you to port your number but NOT to Vodafone, so I think these new Vodafone deals may be less attractive in light of that. Does anyone know if there is a way around this?
  • How come they don't allow you to port the number to vodafone?

Don't know, but I spoke to them and they said that if you do try and port to Vodafone you lose the cashback
  • Can we get anyone to match these deals?

I especially like the look of the N72 or 6280 but seems they are quite rare phones (especially the N72). Couldn't find either on the CPW site.

    thanks
  • Generally the other shops will only match direct dealer deals, so not these in other words.

    .

In my own experience I can say the same about coolnewmobile. Stick phonebill and claimform in post. Wait for cheque. Never had a problem.

Only recently discovered that website by Reestit Mutton, I think it's fantastic.
