Sharks are in transit - PO confirms they are small letters so am hoping the sticking works.

LE ditto - hope they prove kittie proof?

Well I won't be starting them off yet, but yes quite how I'm going to keep the other plants I need to grow inside away from the new kittie, I'm not sure yet.
Look forward to receiving them :)

I turned 40 a couple of months ago, so offically classed as "middle aged" (although in my head I'm still 19 :)

Yeah, me too, though I turned 40 a few more months ago. :)

    I'm 63. :p

    P.S. I can tell you're a youngster; you think daughters leave home!:rotfl:

LOL! I know, my eldest has been in and out of here so often that I think she's attached with elastic AND that I have revolving doors at the front with a sign that says "Welcome to come back, day or night"...! My other daughter is settled in her own permanent home, thankfully. For now:D
  • Before the sowing season ends, can anyone recommend seeds to plant and grow to sell as small plants/strong seedlings in Inner London? I'm focussing on plants that will stay compact so ideal for patios and small gardens and balconies, so have chosen dwarf/compact/mini varieties of tomatoes, peppers, chillies so far. I was going to try herbs, but last year mine got infested with tiny greenfly (this was indoors on a windowsill) so am loathe to wait weeks for the same failure, to be honest.

Also - any easy to grow flowering plants? I've tried English Lavender, but it's a bugga to germinate! Have ONE seedling poking through out of approx 200 seeds sown! Any lavender varieties that are easy to grow from seed? I've attempted taking cuttings from established plants, but that has even less success I found.

    Any tips and recommendations?

Hesta runner beans, are a dwarf variety and are good in pots.. so i should imagine they would be good for patios etc..

chilli pants would be good on windowsills

sorry cant think at mo, as my head is a bit fried with the news about the tender, and the implications its going to have in work, and on our future funds:o

How about basil mines coming up nicely after 10 days on the window sill I have also got parsley but it's taking a while to come up. Just trying to think of things that you pay money for at the supermarket. Maybe you would pot them up a few of each type and they might fetch a bit more e.g chives, Basil and parsley? Perhaps you over watered them last year hence the bugs.

I grow Italian Parsley because it lasts well in a patio planter and you get heaps from just a few plants.

I found lavender comes up like weeds if the seed is fresh, but it takes a whole season to produce tiny plants for 9cm pots, so it hardly gives a quick return. Marigolds are easy and you can flog them as companion plants for the toms too. I always grow some alongside mine.
