I expected rain, so I got on to a job that would only take a few hours............... Now the sun's shining!
The job was to plant a row of cotoneasters in line with the existing leylandii hedge separating us and the neighbours. This is because the leylands are either dead or not very well. Next door's owner disabled them further a month ago, by asking her son to reduce them to 6' and then haircut their face with a chain saw! Anyway, methinks they will not be giving us protection for too much longer.
Lucky I had plenty of cotoneasters kicking around.0 -
DS2 has been and collected 10 christmas dinners today, aka the turkeys have arrived.

horrible, grey, WET, windy and bl00dy water everywhere on the roads....
Alfie yes We did buy somethings:D but no livestock:rotfl:
did bid on 2 beautifull really old ornate fireside coal cupboards I went up to £380 ( yes I know.. but they were stunning and VERY old) but they sold for £400, hubby was came back early so so seen how much I was bidding, he said if he could reach me he would have clonked me:rotfl: But they would have fitted in very well in the ranch.., so we did end up buying a large fire dog basket for £15 and some iron ladle things for £10 will look nice hanging on the stone wall by the fire.
Just come back from the range, hubby and friend are still up there hacking off more walls lite a fire in the one of the 'leaning' wall's fire place, taken pics so will post them later...
Alfie, that beautifull coat i showed you, was bought from a French theatre company quite a fews years ago...

Well, it didn't rain here, so I gave the inside of the new hen house and 3/4 of the outside its second coat of Creocote.
NowI smell like a carbolic kipper! :rotfl:
CTC, I expect the ranch will benefit from the odd fire or two to keep it aired.0 -
I thought the fire would be good for the place too, great kinds obviously all think alike.
Weather held off here too. Same the drive belt would not hold on the bloody mower.
We got second coats of woodworm spray on all the furniture we plan on coming in the house from the barns next month.
The weather was meant to hit us in the afternoon, wind was picking up when I put the birds away, not sure what it's doing now. Warmer here, thanks to the cloud cover.0 -
LIR if you want to pm details of your mower I can ask OH if he's any ideas what the problem might be.
