The reason for including the invitation to issue immediate proceedings is, amongst other things, to be able to clearly demonstrate the "unwarranted" nature of any further demands should the need arise. You see there was a reason beyond simply trying to call their bluff - which is what I think will happen. ;) If it doesn't and they continue to issue demands then there are other games that can be played. :D
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • Thank you for your advice. . I am a panicer and terrified of someone coming knocking at the door demanding money from Parking Eye or sending me to court or prison! I will not reply and just dread the post each morning! Hope they stop the reminders and money requests soon. Having my husband in Afghanistan is enough to worry about at the moment, could do without this!

No problems, Oggy. Understand your position. And don't worry about popping back here if you want reassurance at any point. The reason for feeling as you do is this is what PE want you to feel like. Their demands are designed to do exactly this. If their demand was anywhere near as legitimate as they claim do you think there would be any need for this?

No one is going to send you to prison and if PE try it on just come back here for plenty of support and guidance. ;)

  • Tell him to bring his rifle back in case anyone from PE comes visiting... don't worry, they never do that! The are simply letter-writers, they never do anything else. If you don't like the idea of getting letters, send them the ultimatum letter penned my either myself or HO87.

The only ones liable to see the inside of a courtroom or prison cell are the miserable scammers operating this semi-legal swindle.
  • You guys are stars! :)

I really appreciate the time you have taken to help a stranger. I feel much more confident standing up to the scammers now and will be posting my letter tomorrow.

I will post here if/when I have any updates!

    Thanks again
  • Oggy,

Like you, I am a worrier, but I can assure you that there is no need to panic. Unlike your other half, these muppets are no heroes and will soon go away.

posting my letter tomorrow. Try putting just a 1p stamp on. With a bit of luck Royal Mail will spot it and charge the recipient the excess plus admin. I imagine the rats receive so few letters that the only ones they ever get have a cheque enclosed and they will happily pay the excess on the assumption it is yet another cheque. We are relying on Royal Mail here to do their bit.
  • Yep I do that one! Write on the top "Open carefully cheque enclosed" so they pay the £1 plus the Post Office charges them for delivery.

DCAs don't chase you or send the boys round! It's only some junk mail - and these letters are shown in the top thread along with a helpful Watchdog video with a solicitor holding a fake PCN with a pretty pic of a car on it, just like yours. Have you not seen it yet?

Just ignore them like we all do. Some posters here have drawers full of these rubbish DCA letters, all predicable trash, just play 'PPC snap' with each letter, matching it to the top thread pics, and file them.

Please calm down newbies! Just above your posts I already said that debt collectors DO NOT 'send the boys round'!!

This is a SCAM so for Gawd's sake read the top sticky thread and learn about the letters you will get, and watch the Watchdog video on there.

You don't need a link as the forum index is just a click away (see my signature). The sticky threads at the top are the info threads. Read the top one 'PPC letters & threats' NOW. Please...

Either ignore Parking Eye or send the letter suggested, but either way you will NOT be going to Court and will NOT end up with a CCJ, bad credit record, prison(!!) and nor will the sky fall in! :rotfl:

People do make me laugh! :rotfl:
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
