Tesco Mobile helpline say there are no t&cs to stop me using a normal sim, but I would do so "at my own risk", and if a cut-down sim damages the phone its not their fault. They would "strongly advise" me to get a micro-sim.

So, latest thoughts: if the £12.50 per month standard sim (750 minutes, 1GB data) is still available when I buy (soon) then I'll go for that. Otherwise I'll get the £12.50 per month micro-sim (which isn't on special offer) and get 500 mins.

I've ordered a sim cutter from Ebay so I've got it just in case. Only £2 wasted if I don't use it!
