I had a new combi last year and chose Worcester Bosch. I couild quite easily have gone for Viessmann or Vaillant. As far as I know those are three of the better brands, and they are a step up from Potterton.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

Hi:the standard of the installation is the most important factor..that being said my OH recommends/installs Viessmann and Vaillant with Remeha as a budget option. Compare the quotes like for like....more here.
P.S. Ideal:eek:

ideal logic isn't a bad boiler for the money, plus a 5 year warrenty.
worcs or vaillant very very good, not much experience with veissmann but think there german so probably well built0 -
As Canucklehead says, the standard of installation is an important consideration. A few very good brands here, as others have said I would have got a few quotes for a Vaillant - only reason is because I've had my loyal old vaillant for years and it's never given me any problems.0

I'd like to know why Remeha is a budget option, they may be cheaper to buy but i would fit one over the other two above any day, Remeha are an excellent boilerI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I fit vaillants and viessmanns. I did fit Remehas until they let me down. I had no problem with the boilers ( apart from fitting the valves which could be a pain) but after one of my customers required a warranty claim I stopped fitting them. They claimed the boiler was sludged up and the system needed powerflushing. It had been done and a Fernox TF1 magnetic filter was installed. I left a sample of the water from the filter for the Remeha engineer, which was clean, and asked the customer to call him back in. He accepted that the system was clean, he just said I'd been "unlucky" - yes by fitting a Remeha! - and that he was going to leave 2 heat exchangers for ME to fit! The cheek! I phoned the rep and told her to sort it out. They never returned but the problem has gone away so the customer is happy for now.0

Hi: doesn't sound promising, a 5 year parts & labour warranty not being honoured.:eek:Trying the old powerflush escape clause is not on. Lots of comments on the CC/diyNOT about recent problems.
Tbh... the OH hasn't fit a Remeha since 2010 as customers have been opting for one of the Vs.;)

I have been quoted for an ideal logic plus combi and I would like to hear from anyone who has had one fitted in their own home in the last 18 months or so. I would like to know if they have had any problems and what the service has been like should they have required any.
Obviously tradesmen all have their own recommendations and this is based on both experience and what they know and are used to. However I just want some honest, down to earth, unbiased opinion from ordinary people who own this particular boiler.
ThanksI may have my head in the clouds but I still have my feet firmly planted on the ground0 -

logic is better than the isar/icos but it's still an ideal, cheap boilers, rubbish service, 7 yrs warrentee if you can get them to fix it without making excuses why they shouldn't, honest enough for you ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

I'm assuming that you are an installer who has based your opinion on previous models and neither has one of these fitted yourself nor installs them.
Whilst I respect that everyone has a right to an opinion I did specifically ask for opinions from those who have had them installed and in particular this model.
If you can substantiate your claims with for instance a high number of your personal call outs to repair/replace this particular model of boiler (Ideal Logic+ Combi 30) then I am happy to take heed.
However I am not in the least bit interested in the bickering which takes place between installers of the different brands as everyone seems to want their piece of the pie.
Yes I know they have had seriously bad press and comment for previous boilers and I am taking this on board, however there are people that do recommend them and this cannot be due to their history since surely any installers recommending them would quickly go out of business if they are still as unreliable and rubbish as they were.I may have my head in the clouds but I still have my feet firmly planted on the ground0
