Not convenient, just a standard investment recognised period. Short, medium and long. Up to 1 year, 1-5 years and 5+ years respectively.

Yawn, still didn't answer my question.

You're the one who initially resurrected this thread to 'boast' about your monthly predictions (which actually turned out to be wrong).

Now that you've been wrong in both March and April, you've defaulted to your long-term argument.

It feels like I'm speaking to a machine with no emotiion whatsoever. Take a step back, look at it objectively, admit you were wrong and move on. It will be healthy for you.

And you could still claim a trend in one direction or another just by goig back beyond 5 years to a point where the figure was higher or lower.

I tend not to bother going more. Just gives a good look at the prevailing movement. The housing market doesn't move quickly.

Long term is a little more useful. The market is not getting any better is it. The house prices have also suffered greatly and the volume is still unhealthy allowing the prices to fall further. It would be interesting to see the supply volumes in comparison with this.
Despite your preaching you don't have a scooby doo about trend analysis.

Was that an answer to my question?
It never usually is, he provides an answer to a different question usually.

Actually my original point is from the January rush when it all started. This month is no where near that.

Trend analysis is a whole new area. This is an observation. You would be deluded to take a short term view with the volatility in this market.

    Good luck to you sunshine.

Waiting 30 years to buy a house because you're observing the trend is a great way to go about it or maybe not...

I'd be very suprised if he's old. If he's not a teenager he'll be in his twenties.

30 years is keen. There are a lot more factors involved in house buying. The environment is deteriorating.

Well, each to their own. I've got a nice 3-bed semi in Surrey he can rent whilst he's waiting.
