Ok in the last few days we have shampooed the carpets, decluttered and deep cleaned the bathrooms, cleaned inside the windows, inside and outside the kitchen cupboards and put a new coat of paint on the kitchen. Just need to have a last tidy round today and clean the mirrors and the glass in the doors before menu planning and food shopping. House will look lovely and we will have a great time with visitors. Just wish the house fairy would always keep it to the same standard!

Today's NSJ is to paint the front door - DH prepped it last night and I will paint this afternoon after work.

Yesterday's NSJ is done and the suitcases are away. I didn't manage to finish organising the dreaded cupboard as the usual job's have taken over so that will become another day's NSJ and I will finish it off.

    Happy days everyone.

The front door's going to have to wait as DH informed me it's not ready to be done just yet. So the cupboard it is for today.

It's good to see this thread getting lively again.

The weekend tasks proved more trouble than they were worth. 3 hours in and it was clear that the en-suite shower cubicle could / should not be saved :( So new plan of action is to make the downstairs bath nice and water-tight until I can save the money to gut the en-suite and start from scratch.

So tonight's non-standard job is remove yet more silicone and re-seal the leaking bath. This weekend's non-standard job will be to purchase and fit new taps and a bath panel.

My kingdom for a fully functioning bath suite! :rotfl:

Have a great night everyone

Another day, another NSJ! Last night's went well. I now have a single pile of paperwork instead of, well, too many! I have the files ready for the paperwork to be organised into and some ready to go into a memories box for the loft. Don't worry - the memories box has select items only and won't become the next job to do lol....she says.

Today/tonight is my very long and horrible day at work so I need something do-able. A draw in DD bedroom. She has 3 packed to the brim (she's 7) so I will do the top draw tonight. There's so many things to pick from but I guess I have to start somewhere.

Have a good day all x

Hi Everybody, I hope you don't mind me joining in!
I have completed a few NSJs this week... (well, over the last 7 days). I finally replaced the rear wiper blade on my little Ka. The casing was intact but some bu88er had taken the actual wiper a bout 2 months ago. (I am also missing 2 hub caps so either somebody is very slowly trying to steal my car, or the blessed thing is gradually trying to escape from me lol).

I also re-attached the rear view mirror as it was a bit loose and the recent heat made things difficult!

Financially, I did something that has been on my "to do" list for ages, which was cancel a DD to PCWorld. I had put it off as I couldn't find the paperwork but yesterday I bit the bullet, cancelled it with my bank on-line and went to the store to cancel it in person! When I got there, they said that I didn't need to tell them as they would just send me a letter asking if I wanted to renew the arrangement! Hmmmm, I'm not so sure about that so I e-mailed my bank, detailing the conversation. If what they said is true and if I had known about it, I could have saved myself a few quid and done it months ago!

So, although I am cross with myself for the wasted payments, it is another NSJ done that I won't have to do again!

Welcome :) Some of these posts made me giggle.

Well I feel proud as tonight I have sorted not only DD's top drawer of her desk but the top of the wardrobe and hoovered it out. It didn't take as long as I thought and I'm really pleased as the things that are now up there are what I want to be up there, instead of "somewhere to keep everything".

DD desk drawer is clutter free and there are more to do. Basically I can see my next load of posts involving drawers :D

So today's NSJ is done, tomorrow's will be making a start on the paperwork that I decluttered from the downstairs kitchen cupboard.

Well done everyone - sounds super productive :)

I've just done something i've been putting off for over a year - open a new ISA. As in it was on the to do list for April 2013 as the interest rate was dropping, I left it for a whole year!! and then didn't do it before the end of that tax year either :o it took all of 5 minutes online :o though I'll need to sign a form to transfer the old one too, once they send it out.

I'm currently steeling myself up to do some wedding gift thank yous, as it is shamefully 3 1/2 months after the wedding and I have done less than a third of them :o:o:o I finish up at my job this week (starting a new one on Monday :D ) so really do need to do the ones for my colleagues sharpish lol.

I love this idea for a thread OP :D

    Today I have :
    - Paid in 2 cheques to the bank (they have been sat on my "to-do pile for over a month!)
    - Sorted out my ongoing repeat prescriptions at the chemist (I've been meaning to do this for ages)
    - Ordered DDs new uniform for next term

Tomorrow I want to clear a drawer that is overfull of DDs craft materials.
