The Clubcard number stated on my till receipts has a * at the end that needs replacing by the final digit of my Clubcard number. If you have wombled receipts you will need to guess that last digit I assume.

11 stores done last night with the old style vouchers, no problems in most at all.

In one express I was told that they were no longer allowed to accept them without a clubcard being used, I argued that it was an old voucher and that it didn't state it on the t&c's on the voucher. I was told they had received a memo the day before and had been told that it was clubcard with all vouchers or they couldnt be used and if i didnt like it to take it up with customer services.

In a petrol station the woman who served me had never seen it before she asked the woman next to her who said 'oh yeah iv heard of these apparently the week after next we have a woman coming in to promote it.'

In an extra store my other half over heard the manager say 'if you scan it and it comes up as 0 then it has already been used'.

My local store that I had problems with n monday night i had no problems at all and i went in with the receipt all prepared :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Just goes to show that yet again Tesco don't train their staff properly because none of them have a clue! :rotfl:

Yeah but you'll need to get a list together of ones that work, as they get narky about the smallest possible difference. Their custard is lower fat than ours, etc.

THe items don't need to compare do they? I thought it was just 8 items, not comparable ones?
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

From their fb page in response to asking why clubcards were needed for the old vouchers

I’m really sorry to hear this, in order to use the Price Promise we do now require you to enter your Clubcard details. However if you do have any old vouchers you should still be able to redeem this in-store without the need of your Clubcard number.

If you can let me know the store that you visited, I can certainly contact them and address this for you.

In regards to your Tesco Direct order I can only apologise that this has been sent to the wrong depot, if you private message me your order number I can organise a refund on any delivery charges that you have paid for.

    Kind Regards
    Jay – Customer Care

I said earlier that I think they're going to start throwing money at this again. They need to be shown up for only offering the same as other stores, not 10%. And also need to be shown up for then earning a profit from their customers still by forcing clubcard use, which earns them tons in free marketing and research. They're doing what they can to keep up with Asda, but even a very basic price check capped at just £10 they can't do without being underhand and immoral!

Anyone using vouchers more than once need to be very careful. They've been rolling out these Pricecheck > Pricepromise changes in stages. You could be done up like a kipper if they're just waiting a while before flicking the switch that implements this.

"Oh, oops, I'm awfully sorry, Sir. My wife must have printed the e-mail and used this voucher without telling me. Oh what I'll do to her in the red room of pain when I get home. Saying that, why didn't your staff sign this receipt if that's the case - oh, Mr T, you really do need better trained staff as you'd've saved me this highly embarrassing situation had you done your job"

Said with so much sickliness in my voice they can go swivel! :A:rotfl:

Haha yeah and I guess it's now just £10 so it's not like they're going to call the police on you for it.
  • Very frustrating - bought quite a few razors on Sunday to get 4 new £20 vouchers - haven't done this since March so thought i'd give it one last go before they bring in the new terms.

Got 4 vouchers back for £20 on Monday as expected, wasn't planning on going to T's until this morning so went to print them last night only to find that they've now been changed to £10 vouchers with unique barcodes! Typical of Mr T, altering vouchers that they've already given you, very underhand!

Don't suppose anyone knows of any way that I can print the original £20 vouchers instead? I'm kicking myself for not printing them at the time!
