I bought a 6 pack of gala apples today. SEL said £1.50 and that was what I was charged. Looking at the price drop magazine at the bus stop, they are meant to be on offer for £1
Philadelphia is meant to be half price £1.16 but I was charged £1.50
I won't be going back for dtd though as middle dd forgot to put the pasta she was holding on the conveyor belt then ran off to play on the ride machines. So I reckon tesco and I are quits0 -

Hi I got the gala apples at weekend, they were marked at £1 and that is what they scanned at. Perhaps the offer has finished?0 -

I know what your post said, I still wouldnt be taking photos, having been on the receiving end of a Tesco ban I know how the CS and store managers minds work, Why would any normal customer go to the lengths of taking a photo holding the receipt against the SEL if they were overcharged? You'll just be alerting them to the fact you knew what you were doing and will be bringing unwanted attention to yourself in that store.
Try it and see how far you get with overcharges in the store in the future, I've been followed around stores with CS staff checking the price of everything I pick up, literally a few steps behind me.
If thats what you really want then snap away..Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
I bought new potatoes from Tesco and for a small plastic bag, they charged me £6.25!!!
I noticed and was shocked and the girl checked the tag and said it was correct. Even the checkout girl laughed at the price.
My husband went into Tesco today and says they have re-priced to £1.99/ kg instead of the £2.99 they tried to charge me.
How does DTD work in that case?
Thanks0 -

Realistically if you are going to a lot of DTD then low profile doesn't really work as there are only a limited number of staff who work CS. If they realise that making a deal out of it will cause them more trouble then it's worth they, in my experience, are happy to keep giving DTDs.
Tescos customer service is abysmal though. They are the ones who can't price things correctly, but they act as if it's our fault for capitalising on it. On the rare occasions I've been overcharged in Sainsburys I've received a friendly apology and the item for free.0 -

I've said this before but I think you either need to keep a low profile or go in all guns blazing and get Tescos HO/the press on the case.
I know what you mean, I've had to get HO on the case on more than a few occasions, I just think taking photos (whenever you take them) shows it is pre-meditated.
My ban came about because they saw me using a price check scanner on DVDs before getting an R&R on them, I managed to call their bluff as I had a basket full of DVDs, some had price stickers on them, some didnt, I pointed out that I was only scanning the ones that didnt have prices on them (why should I need to scan ones with prices?) all the correctly priced DVDs I put back on the shelf and all the DVDs I got R&R on had price stickers.
I had a meeting with the GM of the store and the head of security, the security guy went off to check the CCTV and he couldnt confirm which DVDs I scanned as he could see I didnt scan them all so the ban got overturned.
I was genuinely made to feel like a criminal and they told me that they knew I had been buying stuff that was mispriced in order to get it free, this, they tried telling me, was fraud.
I asked for a job checking their prices for them to prevent it happening in the future but they declined my offer... lolMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

1. First they tried to show me a DTD report where I'd bought four of something to "prove" I was trying to get DTD. Unfortunately that report showed that they'd overcharged, and given DTD, to a customer both before and after me. Whilst carefully filing the report away in my pocket I asked them how many other customers had bought the item between the first and last customer being overcharged, and didn't claim DTD. Surprisingly they couldn't tell me.
2. I then showed them that Tesco advert from 1990s with Prunella Scales, who is overcharged at the till and gets R&R, then goes onto search the shelves for other mispriced items. I asked them if they thought this might encourage people to find R&R. They didn't reply.
3. I thanked them for the overcharge report which I would be showing to Trading Standards and press if they EVER implied I was doing anything wrong again, before leaving a speechless store manager behind.
I now get emails every so often from Tesco's CEOs office to check that they're still making me "feel like a valued customer". Oh, and Tesco manager offices are rubbish. You'd think they could stump up for a proper desk and a pot plant or something rather than a piece of white worktop and the oldest computer known to man!0 -
Do you have a link for that advert please, I can't find it?0
