Ginger biscuits..it is the only time I will eat them as I am not keen on them. Also if my tummy is a bit jumpy I will eat plain Arrowroot biscuits - the only place I have been able to find these biscuits is Tesco and they are made by Crawfords.
  • I try to leave a gap between pills, then lying flat for a while. I have spent many a morning spewing into my garden because i took them all at once, then had a cup of tea!!! Was so bad i stopped taking my ACE Inhibitors as i was always sick after. Doctor rail-roaded me!!! Reminded me my dad had a severe stroke at 48 (20yrs older than i was) for doing the same thing and my BP was 160/105 so i REALLY needed to take them, sick or not. Anyhoo i spaced them out and now im not sick, just feel sickly for a bit. xxx
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea

It is odd isn't it. I take that medication but don't have any nausea. What is your dosage?

I take 60mg twice daily, 12 hours apart.

The ginger hasn't helped so it looks like I will have to make another appointment with GP.

    Thanks all.
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.
  • Nothing really stops it, but ginger beer makes it more likely to stay there long enough to be absorbed. :(
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    It's not odd at all.

Medications effect different people in different ways.

I know many people who take my dose of painkiller and just pop one when they need it.

If I did that I would be bent double with stomach pains, I have to take mine with food, and it has to be with, not before or after.

    Quite normal having different reactions!

    Hmm.

    Thanks for your post, stop_Tesco_slavery.

I do think alternative medicine has it's place in helping treat or alleviate illnesses / symptoms, hence asking if there were any methods used to alleviate the vomiting associated with this drug.

Do I need the medication I take? Yes, sadly, I do, although there is the option of a different brand. There's no telling how I would react to another brand either - maybe I will suffer the side effect of vomiting, maybe not. It's worth persevering, I think.

At this moment though, I have asked for drugs to combat the sickness.

Your post has given me something to talk with myself about [in my head :D] and is an interesting one, so thank you.
Can I just ask you to look at this in a different way and ask why you are vomiting?

Your stomach has evolved over million of years to protect your body from being poisoned.

New maybe your doctor knows better than million of years of poison because he will have spend several years in medical schools enough to gain a superficial grasp of medicine.

Instead I would ask do I need to take this drug? Is there an alternative?

You have not said what you are taking it for so it may be the lesser of two problems.

Were it me I would look for an alternative because I would need a good reason to force a poison into my body.

All drugs are poison though to a certain extend.

Not looking for medical advice as that isn't allowed and there is the option to ask GP for anti-sickness pills but would rather not, so, anyone who suffers from vomiting due to prescribed drugs, what alternatives have you found to try and control it?

    Appreciate any advice :)

To be honest I have tried ALL of the remedies.
    Nothing really works.

    Whilst in hospital they prescribed
    Metoclopramide (Maxolon)

taken 3 times a day - they are fantastic!
Although it just isn't because of the side effects of other drugs, but a medical problem I have with my digestive system.
