Tips to reduce vomiting side effects from drugs
Comments
-
I drink at least 2lts of flat lemonade a day as a few of my tablets make me feel sick and it works well for me.
Ginger nuts worked when I was pregnant too.0 -
I've found ginger tea to be very good. Just peel and then grate a small piece of fresh root ginger, pour boiling water over and leave to stand for a few minutes then strain and sip.
Also you can always grate the ginger when you're feeling better and freeze it in portions ready to use when you're not feeling so good.
I find it works better than stuff I've been prescribed.

I second this^^ Ginger is very good for combatting nausea and vomiting - I think even ginger nut biscuits can help

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -
I would be having a chat with your GP. It may be the dosage can be reduced or another drug to do the same job may suit better.
If you're vomiting it back then it's doubtful you are getting the full benefit of the medicine even.
Yes, I did think that.
The lower dosage wasn't controlling the pain but the higher dosage has given me these side effects. However, it could be the brand and another brand might be more suited. Thank you.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -
Very True. When I went onto Fentanyl I became very ill when the doseage was increased and I was bringing up clear liquid, which is just the medication being rejected by the body.
What is the medication for? Can you name it? (sorry not sure if this is allowed)
The medication is MST continus and it's to help relieve pain. If I eat, I bring that up and if I don't eat it is clear liquid
I had hoped that today would be better but, sadly not

Thank you for the advice regarding the ginger. I am going to try that today. I really don't want to add any more medication to the list so it will be good to sort out a natural remedy.

MST continus - yeah a known side effect is nausea and vomiting in the initial stages. Hopefully the nausea and vomiting situation would decrease as one's body gets more tolerated to the medicines.
Best advice is to go back to GP and get an anti-emetic tablet to help you. No point making yourself suffer alot.0 -
It is odd isn't it. I take that medication but don't have any nausea. What is your dosage?0
