Lauren, I think your post is amazing, and you have totally inspired me - I've been thinking about it all afternoon! I need to get about £3K before August for a big trip I'm planning, and if you can do it I can! So, no more impulse buying, in fact I went to Boots today and stocked up on tons of toilettries and threw away the Boots card, did the same in Smiths, no more using the car to go and get newspapers, although as a new junkie I will limit it to 2 a day now, go for it Lauren, and please let us know how you get on, and if you want a buddy I'm in with you! I have a partner but I'm making this a personal challenge, as partner pays for everything and I just buy food, poor lad's away in the far east on business and won't know what hits him when he comes back at the weekend!0

Wow. this is amazing! You must have guts, all I can say
good luck to you, and please keep us updated. Oh, and the toilet roll thing, I'm a student and my housemate always takes packs from the toilets on campus - saves us a few pennies!

Great thread! I get Boots vouchers from Pigsback, there's a thread on the 'freebies' board if you haven't come across Pigsback yet - I reckon on getting over a pound's worth of points every week in about ten minutes; just by clicking and answering the weekly questions (and the answers are given on the freebies post - I just love this site!) then when you have ten quid's worth you can claim a £10 Boots voucher or other goodies. That should keep you in toothpaste and other toiletry essentials! (Do Boots sell toilet paper?) I get a voucher every couple of months.0

Well done, but if you can find a recipe for soap which is not thoroughly smelly and messy, please let us know! I remember well the days during the war, when my Mum had to make soap and the smell was vile, including, as it did, animal fat got from the slaughter house, some awful stuff which, if I remember well was some sort of acid etc... The house stank for days and we also had to dry them after they were cut into squares. BUT it did work when it came to washing...0
