Help! I was told my car came with 3 yrs free servicing, now they say it didn't!

Well its very disappointing and it means I will not trust them again unless they happen to pull something good out of the bag which I'm not expecting. A stupid salesman sealing the deal by making up offers is enough to prevent me from returning to them to change cars in 2 years.

Nissan have said that this offer didn't exist at the time but one which was £250 was which I wasn't made aware of so its unlikely I'll find any evidence in newspapers etc.

Looks like I was the victim of a dodgy salesman unfortunately. The only hope I have now is that they'll offer me something like the first service free like daveyjp said. Unfortunately I've probably been driving around with no RAC cover for the last year so that's something else I'm going to have to fork out for that I thought I already had.

The other option - see if they'll retrospectively add the servicing on to the package.

Afterall, it's quite clear that you would have taken it, you thought you had taken it etc.

Depends if you think you'll get value for money from it is all.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Car dealers are dab hands at "filling your hands" bunches of cheap flowers, tax disc holders, key fobs, flannel, laughs and jokes and then shove a bit of paper under your nose.
Fact is if you do not read what you sign, you could be heading for trouble as what you have signed is a contract, not a receipt and only what is on that contract is what you will get, what was said, is worth nothing if you sign a contract to the contrary.
That is why the OP is best off looking for any paper work with a signature, if it mentions it on their, then argue, if not, it wont matter what evidence, adverts, testimonials you come up with, the contract will be enforced.

Better to find out now than when you break down and need assistance.
Incidentally, who do you think you would have called, had you broken down in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere?
Sounds like a lesson learned the hard way, but not as hard as it could have been.

I was initially told just to call the RAC on their normal number and they would have my details as a Nissan customer. Of course given this saleman's track record this could have all been a load of tosh.

I suspect you're right, but it's easy enough to check. Just call the RAC and ask them if you're covered.

It must have been some bamboozle, if it has taken 12 months to see through it.

Well I only found out when I went to book my first service! I had no reason to worry about it until now!

Well, they called me back and said Nissan had authorised 3 yrs servicing for £250 which was the official offer back when I bought the car but its still £250 I didn't expect to have to pay.

Its a shame really, myself and my husband were both customers of the dealership but its unlikely that we will return after this episode.
