Ok look, someone has cocked up whilst Stoozing:

Plainly this isn't risk free. Can we have that shut down too or a least a consultation process, or is there too much moolah to be made from those hyperlinks with an asterisk. So long, and thanks for all the fish!0 -
They are?
Are they all free?
Beating bonuses free
The online Blackjack guide free
The Gamblings Times Not free
Gambling.co.uk Free
No deposit forum . com Free
two plus two free
There are others as well. as for being free, 5 of the above 6 are. But does it really matter, if your going to make £10k a year, why would you worry about a small subsciption?0 -
It's Martin's web site and up to him. I think it'd be a real shame if it went, though.
I'm not sure how people have lost huge sums if all they had to do was read the FAQs.
Is he going to get rid of the stoozing board as well? There are risks with that one if you're not one for remembering what date it is.
Maybe it's time for a poll?0 -
I really don't think it's appropriate to encourage gambling on this forum. Someone I know started doing these offers (and did use the GIOL board at MSE) and got sucked into taking bigger and bigger risks and ended up losing £25,000.
Luckily for him his wife's family bailed him out otherwise he would have lost his house.0 -

Tell them to check their betfair account - probably £25k sitting in there if they lost at the bookies

All I can say is that MSE has been my forum of choice for quite some years now - long before I started match betting.
I used to be very active as a Tesco R&Rer - basically exploiting a loophole where you could buy an XBOX (yes honest!) for £299, be charged £300 (the item scanned £1 more that the shelf edge label) and claim a full refund AND retain the item.
This practice was supported and encouragred by MSE even though this was very much shopping outside of the spirit of the Tesco price promise.
More recently it is the case (rightly so IMHO) that MSE supports forumites exploiting the less attractive Double The Difference policy currently operated by Mr T (where you buy something, get charged to much and receive double the difference of the over-charge).
In fact the top threads of the Grabbit Forum are devoted to encouraging and sharing mis-priced items in Tesco to be exploited by MSErs up and down the land.
So my laborious point is how can knowingly ripping off Tesco be viewed as being less of an 'offence' to legally taking up a bookie's offer of a free bet and then matching it to make a profit?
GIOL has made a great difference to my financial position over the last few years to the extent that this year it has so far contributed to paying towards my summer holidays, car insurance & tax, presents for my family and other bits and bobs: it's a terrific tax free income that is risk free and is there for the taking if you take the time to read and study the excellent guides on this Board.
It would be a sad day indeed if GIOL was put to an early grave - I like it here.

Anyone trying to prove that JM was offering RAFs to PRS whilst telling others to withdraw would have a very hard job indeed. Since it never happened. But once again this fallacy is peddled in order to help shut the board down.'In penguins and pearls we'll drink and we'll dance, 'til the end of our days, 'cause it ain't left to chance that we win...'0

You have an hour to spend on your computer in the evening, do you
a) do free clicks (total earned in 1 hour = 30p)
b) enter comps (Total earned = nothing but you never know
c) a simple £10 free bet for £10 qualifier, including reading t&c and getting your calculations checked on the Ask questions here thread (total earned = £9)
?
I know which I would chooseMillions long for immortality who don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon.0 -
Given that people in financial difficulties are likely to use this site it's just not a good idea to encourage gambling.
Why do you think the bookies continue to offer free bets to people?
They aren't charities.0 -

This isn't about risk. i think that has become clear from both the blog and the post from Martin and editors. It is about cleaning the house as MSE expands. It is a real shame, as I suspect if this forum didn't have "gambling" in the name we'd be left in peace. As it is, having a "gambling" board does not fit with the corproate image and the forum will have to go as MSE expends it influence.0
