    Morning PG.
Thats a great list of positives you have there! Wel done on putting the ys stuff back :)

Hope you feel better soon, sounds like its a good thing that the kids are off to their dads, so that you can get some rest.

Thanks Cleggie. I really need the rest, although looking around the house I really need to do a load of housework too... If I still feel this rough I'll probably have tomorrow off work, so I can potter for two days with lots of rest in between.

    Now a rant...
I dropped the children off at their dad's and drove home. Got out of the car to find that I have a completely flat tyre.:mad:

I rang the aa and asked how much it would be to upgrade, as I only have roadside at the mo and not home start. They said £77 for now until 25th Sept as that's when the policy is due for renewal. This includes a callout charge as I'm upgrading for having broken down. However, while on hold i went online and saw that membership is only £30, whereas I've been paying £56.50. I rang a diff number to ask about this, and he said I could ring up and query when renewal due and they would look after me, but not helpful for now. I also asked if I could ring them after driving half a mile down the road and then ringing, and they said I'd be refused help as it was already on the system!!!

So, have I paid the £77? Have I heck as like!! I have put a message on facebook asking if any friends can come and help me! If I get no response from there, I have two other people I could ask. Then, and only then, will I ring then back and upgrade! I'd rather buy someone a few beers than pay £77!

Still need to do the shopping today, but that's all I need to go out for. Let's hope I can get the tyre fixed before the shops shut!

    Thanks!

Well, I put a note on facebook, and a friend's husband came over and has sorted it out for me. He left about ten mins ago...

I really wanted to go to a!di for the cherries, but don't want to drive on the spare unless I absolutely have to (ie to work, then to the garage), so I'm going to walk to lid! instead. The a!di is not quite walkable. I really need to get myself a new bike, then I could be cycling to these places! That will be the next thing I save up for. Actually, need one in the summer hols anyway, as I've told the children we'll be doing lots of cycling then, working up the stamina to be able to cycle to school in Sept! Ebay here we come!

Right, off to walk to lid! now, armed with my list and my rucksack.

We use Brittania Rescue and the advantage is that it is the person, rather than the vehicle that is covered. I remember reading a comparison and green flag came out top - you should definitely compare to get a better deal in September. moneysupermarket.com offer a comparison.

We don't have a spare - just a nice big boot on the H0nda...

That's a good idea, but I save mine for days out with the children. This year we're doing longleat, legoland and west mids safari park!

I will def be looking around for a better deal when it's renewal time. The ridiculous thing is, it was £75 for the year, or £77 to upgrade my existing policy!! They are definitely not having my custom next time.

Thanks for the comment about my control! It fluctuates, actually (check out April in my sig!). Having said that, I did really well today. I walked to and from lid!, as I didn't want to use the car unless necessary. It's only a half hour walk there. Took my rucksack and a spare bag in case, as I know myself! Spent a grand total of £11.97 on gc, and then some on meds and a french book (going there in Aug). Really chuffed with myself, although I still could have spent less - I picked up four packs of the half price gammon steaks. They make a lovely quick (and now cheap) meal! Esp as one steak will usually do the three of us. So, I shouldn't have picked up four, one or two would have done. Oh well!

If I don't spend any more until next Sunday, my daily allowance will shoot up to £3.61, which will be the highest it's been in the time i've been monitoring it. Obviously it'll go down when I spend again, but it shouldn't go down too much. Eg, today's shop only put it down by 3p per day. It's a really good feeling, trying to beat myself!!

    Positives for today:
    - low shop
-got tyre fixed without having to pay the aa loads of money
    - got an hour's exercise for free, felt really good to get exercise, save fuel, and do the weekly shop all in one go! It reminded me of my uni days, walking sown to the sm, and walking back with my bags.
    - watched loads of telly, as I'm too poorly to do anything else
    - had a nice (ish!) conversation with my ex.
    - managed to get the two fruit/veg choices my children made for their lunchboxes after all. They chose cherries and cucumber. I've just recently started doing this, as I was bored of giving them the same stuff week in and week out, so I gave each child one choice, to make two fruits/veg. This way they can't blame me!!

On a bad note, ds may have slapcheek, and I feel rubbish too. If I were a man, I do believe what I have would be classed as man flu!!! (It's a bad cold with a sore throat.) However, I can't take anything for it, as I'm already dosing up for my knee. Still, dd is ok!

I'm really tired; the meds and lack of sleep are making me exhausted, so I'm off to bed now. Night!

I've been sent home from work today, and prob won't be in tomorrow. I had a big bowl of pasta, sauce and grated cheese - the ultimate comfort food! Just watching tv again, until I have to pick the children up from school at 4.

Had to buy four new tyres on the way home :eek::eek:
