Ring your local Vauxhall dealer and ask whether their Tech 2 (it is actually called GM Tech 2 and is a common diagnostic hardware/software tool for all General Motors cars) is able to read Saab error codes, and if yes, find out how much. If not try ringing your local Vauxhall independent garages. My guess is that any GM Tech 2 should be able to at least read and clear codes, but not re-program car functions.
BTW, when trying to operate the roof do you get any messages on the SID display? Any noises coming from the roof? Or is it just completely dead? Have you checked the hydraulic roof oil level?"Retail is for suckers"
