Saab Warranty Advise

No manufacturer, no warranty. Sorry.
IMHO there are three options:
1. Take it to your dealer or independent Saab garage and pay for the repairs
2. Buy Saab Secure warranty (try Saab dealership service dept.) and then claim. The warranty would cost £500+
3. diagnose the problem yourself and ask at Saab forums for help, there could be a very simple fix"Retail is for suckers"

Why would dealers honour manufacturer's warranty?
Goodwill?I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

Goodwill?
Oh yeah, cause you'll rush back to them for another Saab.0 -
Define 'Bang' sensor or hydraulics normally.
Sensor fixes are well documented, and if you are having Hydraulics issues, I would steer clear of dealers anyway.
If you go to Pirtek, they are experts in Hydraulics - I have used them for repairs on 2 of my cars. (I have a convertible habit!) 1/3 the price teh dealers wanted to fix.0 -

Would this goodwill gesture apply to the OP only, or every Saab driver in the country? Should the dealer also cover the cost of spare parts and VAT? Maybe also throw in a free courtesy car with full tank of petrol and free insurance? Should the mechanics volunteer their Saturday afternoons to provide free repairs? How much of their own money should the dealer throw out the window? Where do you draw the line?
Every dealership/garage is a business, and their only purpose is to make money."Retail is for suckers"

Get it repaired whatever way and get rid of the car soon. Value of Saab cars will now fall like a chest of drawer thrown from a cliff.
Don't you think that, if correct, your advice is too late?
Or is there a time lag between bankruptcy and depreciation? What goes around - comes around0 -
did you buy it on HP? if so you can claim against the finance company for breach of contract, as per Supply of Goods Act
however i am surprised the dealer you bought from wasnt interested in helping. they could at least have tried to sell you the new Saab Secure warranty scheme.
or just buy your own aftersales warranty and wait a few months til its sunny and low and behold your roof doesnt work

I bought it on finance, but I honestly don't know how to contact them, it just goes out my bank every month, I took it out through the dealership, amazingly when I shopped around nobody could come near the rate.
The dealer was happy to help, they didn't offer to fix it but they're 300 miles away and know it, I flew down there and drove back as it saved me 1,000's, but it's a pain now I've got a problem.
How do I claim against the finance company? Do I get it done then chase them or what??? Confused0 -
By the way, the car if plugged into a Saab Tech II computer will very likely give you a fault code and tell you what is wrong with itself, any decent garage will do this for a nominal cost.
Good look.
It isn't nomial, the local dealer want £120 just to plug it in and an independant isn't much cheaper and they're not sure if they have the right software as the car isn't that old, that's just to tell me what's wrong and how much it'll cost though0 -

ok if it was at a saab dealership, then i would assume your finance was through GMAC - your Invoice from the dealer should state who finance was through, or if not, contact the dealer, they will have it on file
then all you need to do is contact the finance company, and quote the Supply of Goods Acts, re breach of contract

A diagnostic should be no more than £50, even at saab rates. Whereabouts in the UK are you, as i might be able to suggest some reliable independents?
