  • Got my 2000 X peugeut 106 1.1lt last oct for £350 6months MOT 6 months tax. 122k on the clock

Just got the mot last week sailed through with no advisories

best bargain i have had in a long time
just because you are paranoid doesnt mean to say they are not out to get you
  • Well so far it's been 2 x drop links, 2 x track rod ends, 2 x strut mounts, the other CV joint. £160.

Still a couple of tyres and I'll need the tracking done too will end up another £140.

That'll be £1300 into it over my 14 months ownership but that should take me up to 22 months ownership.

Thats around £60 a month which isnt too bad.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but the thread I started has gone.

Anyway, I've tried some of the links listed on this and the other thread started by the op but can't seem to get the answer I'm looking for.

Basically I have two dino juice cars (well 1 and another coming in the next few weeks when work is completed) but I can't find out if they are suitable for wvo, svo or bio.

Does any know if (or where I can find out) a Citroen c8 with hdi engine or a Nissan primera with cdi engine would be suitable? Hope that makes sense.

    Cheers.

No, they're far too modern. Biodiesel only.

Can't quite tell because of the pic angle but is that a 620ti?

If so, I salute you, awesome cars!

I've had 2 620ti models, both absolutely fantastic. The first I paid over the odds for back in 2009 as it was a minter (went to the 'Ring in it, did some serious mileage!) and the second was a £200 bargain from a friend who was scrapping it.
    £200 plus a clutch (£50) later, I had a 200bhp turbocharged armchair. I miss that car. :(

Anyway, to topic - this is a diesel sadly as I do around 80 miles a day for work.

Since the post I've done over 3,500 miles without a hitch, this has turned out to be one of the better 'bangers' I've had over the years. :)

First of all, time to clean it up (remove 4 corner bump strips, pull dent out) :

Second, I had a sticking brake. Time to get mechanical (although still a free repair). Piston was corroded... before:

    After:

Interior (pre clean, need to get some newer pictures) :

As much as it was just a cheap runabout, it's actually a damn good car.
  • Audi's still got a rattle (suspect it's a tracking issue, the adjustments seized and probably a bit loose) and have not bothered about tyres as yet.

    And a cars came up.

So it's the sleeper to London tonight, wee shot of the underground, another train, then a 385 mile drive home again.

They're not always on your doorstep :)

Been given 2nd offer on eBay for a 2002 Picasso SX 2.0 HDI for £360. Worth it?

MOT til end of November, but has a blow in exhaust, not sure how bad, waiting on reply to email. And a heavy clutch. 150K miles.

Local car trader selling it via eBay auction rather than trading it on his forecourt (upfront about it). This say knackered car?

Not sure if this is "bangernomics" but just bought a 03 plate Seat Leon, 90,000 miles with fully stamped history up to 86,000.

A few small dings here & there but no rust & the interior is immaculate.

One or two problems ;) It failed it's mot on a wishbone bush, seller knocked £100 off to cover this & the stereo was locked out.
The good news though is that the guy who did the mot has quoted £30 (ish) + vat to fix the bush & I sorted the stereo after a trawl on the net.

It drives like a dream & fingers crossed there's no "hidden" faults but that's the gamble.

    Cost £1450 + mot repair.
Are you intending to keep it until it's final days? If you are I think we can squeeze you into the banger club on an honourable membership for 18 months and then convert you to full membership once it's value drops below £1k.

I've had the Leon for 12 months now & it's just passed it's MOT... no work needed & no advisories :)

No money spent apart from 2 tyres & oil/filter change. Mileage now 102600.

    Does it qualify yet ;)

Why ask how bad a blow is? It's going to need replacing either way.
Clutches are cheap if you can do the work yourself.
