Read other AV testing house results - you'll find they differ from test to test.
Tests results can be influenced by so many factors - use them as a guide, but don't take any one particular test as gospel. Another day, a different set of test samples and the outcome could be a whole lot different.
Spot on! We agree!
Another example of how things change - Using Virus Total recently (when a SystemFix variation came to light) - I think about 26 out of the 40-odd anti-malware progams on that day identified the file as a virus - with some big-names missing it. It does vary from day-to-day.
The main point is always keep your AV uptodate - our firm always installs the latest version with updates when we get a machine in for any work (if paid for versions we encouage either moving to free, or paying for the latest version)0 -
I'm not saying the free one is better but is probably good enough. It's good enough for me anyway. I've spent some time recently on some dodgy sites looking for Character Editors for Diablo2 LOD and there's a lot of bad stuff there but AVGFree flagged everything up and dealt with it without me doing anything. So I'm happy with it.I was using the paid version. Are you suggesting that the free one might be better? As I said previously, AVG seems to have done the job as the downloaded Malaware did not find any additional problems.0 -

Enough said.
No contradiction at all. If the vast bulk of users are still running an edition earlier than 2012 (which they will be), then they have an AV program that 'can be very poor'.No free lunch, and no free laptop
