If you are using webmail, then I would change your password immediately as a precaution.
MBAM will most likely pick up a whole host of things that AVG has missed.
If a Quick Scan reveals anything, then follow it with a Full Scan.

I am not using webmail so don't have a password. I have done a full scan on AVG checking all the options. All my sent messages send a copy to me and I haven't had any at all. I don't keep a contacts list.

No. I am using Pegasus because you no longer get Outloo free with new laptops. I know that Outlook automatically adds addresses to the address book but Pegasus does not seem to do so.

AVG can be very poor. It is recommended that you follow the advice to do a on-demand scan with MBAM.

Earlier today i did a full AVG check which did heal or send to virus vault some cookie related probs. I have now done as suggested with the MBAM quick check and it hasn't found anything at all. That suggests that the job was done effectively by AVG.

Another bit of your regular misinformation. First you don't know whether she's using the free AVG or the paid for version and secondly in Februarys Computer Shopper thier verdict was that "AVG Frees acuracy rivals many commercial anti-malware suites and plenty of features. AVG is king of the free AV castle". It defended against 98% of the test virii thrown at it and no false positives. I've said before that you should find out the facts instead of blindly repeating stuff you've read in forums.

I was using the paid version. Are you suggesting that the free one might be better? As I said previously, AVG seems to have done the job as the downloaded Malaware did not find any additional problems.

Yes, the 2012 Free edn of AVG has leapt up the review charts, clearly much better than their previous efforts. But CS (for some bizzare reason) only tested 4 free programs, of which only MSE is widely used (the other two being Avast and Comodo). No Avira? However, 95% of the installed AVG Free user base will be running one of the many earlier (and much inferior) editions. People who use AVG Free do not IMHO ever update to the latest edition-they just install it (or someone does if for them) and forget about it.
CS did not actually test the paid edn of AVG, which we now know the OP is using. The best commercial program was found to be BitDefender. Kaspersky (my own personal favourite) came second, but only because it costs a bit more. Or of course free if you have Barclays online banking.
So regular misinformation? I don't think so.

Read other AV testing house results - you'll find they differ from test to test.

Tests results can be influenced by so many factors - use them as a guide, but don't take any one particular test as gospel. Another day, a different set of test samples and the outcome could be a whole lot different.
