Why hasn't anyone contacted the FBI ?
And no I'm not joking, the scam is based in America, they will look into it.

I've just been had for £184 - a website offering trial samples for total cost of £5.99 and £3.99, but two weeks later my account has been debited a further £99.99 and £83.80. There was no mention of any subscription or further automatic order when I bought the 'samples', and their ads have come up when looking at other legitimate websites. I would not have bought the samples if a 'subscription' was clearly stated.
I received a 'feedback request' from the company's customer services by email, which also included an order addressed to me for £83.80. I replied to this email expressing concern that I had not ordered any further products from them, and wanted clarification that this would not go ahead, nor my account debited.
They gave me two numbers to call, one was in the USA / Canada, and the other a UK number. I replied telling them that I did not wish to call them, but wanted a written response by email.
They did not reply, and the following day my account was debited twice to a total of £183.79.
I have emailed them again asking for the money to be refunded, and reported it to my bank and the Action Fraud / Police. Action Fraud have confirmed that it is indeed fraud, and gave me a reference number. I have passed this onto my bank, who appeared to question the validity of Action Fraud more than the company who have stolen from me!
The bank's fraud department are now 'deciding' whether to send me a disclaimer form to fill in and return.
The website attached to their 'feedback email' does not exist in searches, nor is their an address to write to. When I gave Action Fraud all of these details, the website, phone numbers, email address etc - they confirmed it was fraudulent. These are as follows...
customerservice@essenceofargan.com
1-866-881-1391 (United States & Canada) or (+44)08712846563 (UK)
I have checked the government guidlines 'know your rights' for banks and building societies, and it clearly states in the guidelines that "Your bank must refund an unauthorisedtransaction."
See Government guidelines doc for details.
I cannot believe that if this company has been reported before and is known to commit fraud, that they continue to advertise on the net - I have seen their ads many times before!0 -

Did you read the statement below in the terms and conditions on their website before ordering ?
By entering my account information and clicking the submit button, I agree to the risk-free trial offer terms and authorize Essence Of Argan to charge my account at the end of the 15-day risk-free trial, and with each monthly shipment, on the terms described above.0 -
If this is a scam it it still ongoing. My wife found the site where the benefits of Essence of Argan, coupled with Idrotherapy is the key to getting fabulous results. It seems too good to be true. So done some research and started to get suspicious when the same photo kept appearing with different names of people purported to have used these products. Plus the link to the Argan product was no longer there. Searching some more ended up on the MSE site where I read the warning of a possible scam. Tread carefully when ordering from the internet.0

I have just reported a fraudulent transaction of £83.80 from the oil of argan company to my bank I have the return address as UNITS 8-10 PARKSIDE, SHORTGATE LANE, LAUGHTON, EAST SUSSEX BN8 6DG I feel very upset and disgusted I can not afford to lose this amount of money the bank said it will send me a claim form but they doubt I will get it back0

I have also been scammed by this company.
I sent for the 'free oil' paying only package and posting. I received the oil in a package that contained nothing else.
On the 18/02/13 i saw another transaction had left my account for £83.80. I rang essence of argan customer services and was assured that if i returned the oil i would receive a full refund. i returned the oil using the RMA number that customer service had provided 567917857504697 to 9 karpenisiou street, strovolos, 2021 nicosia, cyprus. I have proof of postage certificate.
I have emailed them a number of times but have not received a refund. When i googled this company they have terrible reviews.
I am making a report on scambook regarding this. I have also contacted my bank...they are raising a visa dispute (slowly) but say its a waste of time cancelling my card. i am also logging a fraud complaint with the police0 -
This happened to one of my friends too. It's terrible that they can get away with this. Hope you all get it sorted out.0

Essence of Argan has asked us to post a response. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the forum.
Our customers agree to the trial's terms and conditions. When they sign up online, the trial information is very readable on the order page. We also send a packing slip along with the product.
Should they wish to get a resolution. It is best for them to call our customer service hotline, +4408712846563.
Customers need to call our customer service team to permanently cancel payments. They just need to provide any of the following: name/order ID/email.
To get a refund, they must return the product with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. They can get the number by calling our customer service team.
Please tell our representative that the call is about "MSE concern". I'll make sure our reps handles the call appropriately.Could you do with a Money Makeover?
