Holiday clothes

    Would you indulge yourself?

    No, I wouldn't.

If it would make you feel better, compromise and indulge yourself with 1 or 2 new items that you wear several times.

Like you, I used to buy new clothes for my Summer holidays, until I realised that I spent more on the clothes I wore a handful of times, instead of the clothes I wore year round at home. So now I spend my (clothing) money on items I wear all the time (eg good jeans) instead of a few nice dresses I only wear overseas, to dinner on holiday.

I much prefer it this way too.

'oh no, they're only for holiday, I couldn't wear them in England'
I didn't understand (and still dont).

I think it's fairly common for some people to wear things on holiday that they wouldn't feel comfortable wearing at home. Women & shorts spring to mind. Most women, of a certain age and/or size, don't wear shorts, but will on holiday.

Personally, (maybe like your mother), I only wear sandals on holiday. I don't really like feet generally, but when we're somewhere hot and mine are tanned, I'll wear them. I never get that tanned in the UK, so don't typically expose my feet to the same degree.

I would also wear more floaty, more sheer tunic tops on holiday that I just wouldn't wear to the supermarket, on the school run etc. I would wear them in my garden at the weekend, but not typically on a general Summer's day, unlike being on holiday.

I also have what I call 'holiday clothes.' Infact a ton of them as Im addicted to buying them lol:rotfl:

Its mainly things like short beach dresses to wear over bikinis, sun dresses to wear in the evening, and very short shorts, that I would only wear in say the garden at home, and not anywhere else for example! Also board shorts for wearing when snorkelling, which would look a bit weird wearing back at home unless I went to the beach here and wanted to wear them over a bikini or something, but thats very occasionally.

I dont have holiday shoes though!

This is pretty much like me, I also don't have holiday shoes as I live in flip-flops for as much of the year as possible anyway.

Me too I wish we had a hot climate, I would wear them all year if I could.

I cant wait til the weather warms up in a couple of months and I can get my flip flop collection out!
