How about giving him a cheque? It's not like he doesnt know where you live if it bounces.

shame you did ot contact the energy saving trust at 88 you would have got a nes heating stystem for free. if he is a decent plumber he will be ok taking a cheque. would be a bit worried that you may have been done.0
