why did you buy for mum and dad as wellLondonDiva wrote:Spent £75 on presents for baby, mum & dad
. I've never bought for the parents at baptisms nor had anything bought for me (and wouldn't expect to either).

Glad you made a decision Felicity!
I've some amusing (although not at the time) experiences of family coming to stay and being made to stay with family even though it was impractical (like me and OH in a small double bed joined by 2 kids!!) so I do understand how you feel!
Good luck and I hope you have a great day!MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

I bought because although I had sent something when the baby was born, I was buying a christening present too and wanted to give the parents something special as well.Spendless wrote:why did you buy for mum and dad as well

They are also making a commitment to their child/church/family and I wanted to do my bit as a Godparent by giving something in lieu of being able to pop round to babysit etc"This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -
MIL and FIL are fine to put up, but 10 people is impossible! Well, unless you don't mind living like a student dive! Hardly a stressless way to spend the day, wishing that they'd all go home and get out of your flightpath...
If you can afford it, possibly you could pay for their accomodation or give them 50% towards it? That's meeting them half way, which is fair enough, but again ONLY if you can afford it.0
