    put 2oz's pudding rice to 1 pint of milk and about 1oz butter,cook in lowish oven for 2 hours and stir half-way through and then add tin of evap milk about half hour before end,is lushious like this.

    Furndire is it actually called pudding rice or is there another name for it.

    Pudding Rice is the proper name for it or Short grain rice HTH

    I have just cooked rice pudding in my slow cooker. I used coconut milk (recipe on here) this time :drool: and it tastes fantastic. Maybe serve it with rum soaked pineapple..edible pina colada ;)

    Short Grain rice ~ risotto rice looks very similar as well.

    Never thought of doing it in my slow cooker.

    So the question is where can i buy the correct rice i need from. I would like to use the correct rice the first time i do it. That will impress everyone.

    Well I have a packet of Pudding Rice from Tesco in my cupboard!

    They have it on there.
    Just not in my local store.
    At least i know what to look for now thanks to everyone.

  • I buy pudding rice from Tesco, in my local store it is stored in the frozen section along with mustard, jams, that sort of thing.

    I do mine in the slow cooker then freeze what I don't use, freezes really well and the kids love it.
