I bought some stuff from H&M last week, and delivery has been attempted to be delivered twice already, so i HAVE to be at home to sign for it today! Just hope that she doesnt deliver it when i am at the GP, or on the school run, as i got free delivery, and all the clothes were total bargins!0 -
I have already declared today as a NSD on the daily challenge so have to stick with it! Good luck with yours.
I need to update on the grocery challenge but am about 4 days behind so will have to put by a good hour for that! Think I'm about on track (she said with fingers crossed).:p
Funny how we all needed wine last night, must have been something in the air. Made getting up at 6 to take the dog out hard work though!!

Thanks Barb, and everyone else, for the replies. Sorry i havent thanked you all indivifually, but i am slack, and tired.
Been to the GP, who agreed that i should try different ADs, not sure how i'm feeling about that really.
Have not spent anything so far.
but my H&M parcel hasnt arrived yet either! Looking on the bright side, at least it didnt come when i was at the docs or the school run, so i wont have to re-pay delivery (£5).
Struggling with the revision today. Really dont feel motivated to do anything except eat chocolate and junk food, and prat about online. But needs MUST.
Hope you are all OK?0 -
Yay, my H&M parcel arrived
I'd forgotten about the ballet pumps i ordered, so that was a nice surprise.
I just dont get the same excitement opening parcels as i used to, i think its because i am more conscious of the price.
I am trying desperately to stick to a healthier diet, as i am aware this has an impact on my mood. So i resisted the urge to eat chocolate and junk food all day, instead i have had healthy food and also plenty of water.
As well as boosting my mood (hopefully!!) i am also wanting to lose a few lbs before our holiday too, and just feel the need to eat healthier to improve myself in general.
oh, i am babbling now!0 -
I drink loads of water these days because I take my insulated cup in the car to work with coffee in and then re-fill it from the chilled water point throughout the day. At home, I have just "remembered" squash (cordial) and I am newly taken with good quality but weak orange squash. I bought the A$da one with no artificial colours or sweeteners and it is very good and only a £1. I recommend it for a bit of a change (and I kid myself that because it is weak my teeth and body mass index are not too adversely affected by it!).
It was my first day in the office for almost a fortnight today and I got loads of admin things done, plus two important meetings. I am much better today so it was interesting that so many people said I sounded terrible. Perhaps I strained my vocal chords with all the whispering last week! Only 150 email to work through tomorrow!

Oh my SL! You were really bad then, if people thought you sounded bad! And 150 emails?! Delete, delete, delete...!!!
Cleggie - I was on ADs for a while, and they really helped to straighten out my mood. Also, the whole diet and drink thing was hugely helpful, so it sounds like you know what you're doing. I find it really hard to resist, and have to make a conscious effort to drink and not eat carp. SL, I think squash is absolutely fine, esp if you have ones with no added sugar. If you look at how many calories they are, it's almost not worth counting them, and my view is that I drink more by having squash than not, so it's more of a +ve than a -ve. Plus, if you have a nice one, you feel like you're really treating yourself, when in reality, each drink is only costing something like 5p!!!
Keep going, Cleggie, more drink, nice balanced diet, ADs if you feel they're the right thing, and off out for a walk every once in a while to break up your revision. The fresh air will help your brain to keep all the info in, and give you a nice break, plus the air smells that much nicer now, don't you think?! The changing of the seasons...
Night night,
PG xGrocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100
Frugal 2018 needed! Saving and NOT spending0 -
Hi guys
Having paella for dinner tonight, so using up some prawns, chorizo and onions from the freezer, and starting to use up the mass amounts of rice i have bought over the last few months!
Paid an extra £20 off the CC today.
Have decided to phone the DWP tomorrow and request that the £15 a week is taken my DD as i keep forgetting to phone up and pay! Oops!
My next exam is on Friday, and the revision is going well, i am quite confident that i can do well in this exam , its all about Evoloutionary Psychology, so not too bad really.
I havent been on my ADs for a few days now, and besides a bit of a headache, i havent had any symptoms of withdrawl, which is odd since i was apparently on quite a high dosage. But its all good
Hope everyone is OK and doing well?0 -
I'm good thanks, back at work and back in the swing of it all. I ran for the phone in the office this morning and my feet slipped on the very flat carpet and I ended up tumbling over. I was so full of embarrassment and adrenaline I was fine - just a bit of a bruise on my knee and a bit of back stiffness as I must have jarred it a bit. I was very lucky as there is a massive structural concrete pillar and I managed to miss it but dignity? - none!
I like the idea of making a few extra payments to the credit card but I'm hanging on to this month's extra bits as the old land rover gets serviced and MOT'd on Friday and the other car needs a new tyre so I dare not put the spare on a credit card at the moment. Maybe next month.
Take care, you sound positive and up for it all this week - well done!

Ouch SL- glad it wasnt too bad (the fall) and that you missed the pillar!!
I am not doing very well with the GC. I went into morrisons and tesco today and ended up spending too much money again
I am quite disappointed to be honest, as it was going so well, and now i feel a bit like i have been defeated.0 -
Hi guys.
I am feeling a bit better today, but unfortunately i really have gone overbudget
So, the question now is: should i carry on totalling up my grocery spend for the month, or foget about it until June?
The main problem i am having is that the kids eat so much! Especially my oldest, he is 12 and seems to be constantly growing at the moment, and of course i dont want to stop him from getting enough food, so any suggestions for cheap snacks? I have made flapjacks, but he isnt too keen on them. He ate one when he was going down with a stomach bug, and was sick shortly after, so now thinks that its the flapjacks that made him sick (seriously, my baking isnt that bad!!!:rotfl:), so wont even touch one!
I am going to trawl through the GC recipes in a minute, to find something quite quick, easy, and cheap!0
