Well done Cleggie!!!!!
Go you, go you, go you...!!
What a great feeling - bet you'll be sleeping better now!
And such a change in attitude is awesome too, as it means that you'll be changing your spending habits.
Rising - I know what you mean - when te$co had their value pasta half price, I bought about 12kg even though I already had 3kg in the cupboard! It's not like it's a short-life item, and three meals and we've used a 500g pack, so it'll be used before its date, I'm sure!
If you go over to my dfd, you'll see I've paid off my cc too, just need to be really careful with the old pennies now. Here's the link!!

Sorry Cleggie - you've got loads more views than me, I'm just trying to catch up!!
How are your holiday plans coming along?

Saw your thread & thought I''d let you know my experiences (hope you don't mind) - unfortunately the vets on the board don't seem impressed with AFand if they're anything like the E&Ls of the world ..... avoid, avoid, avoid!
PetPlan is the gold star of insurance co's - great service & no hassle with claims but you do pay for this ..... a company I've had positive dealings with in the past is PDSA - not quite as gold * as PP but hugely cheaper (Mia was about £4 / month & Archie £5 / month).
Look for a lifetime policy with an amount payable / condition every year (avoid anything with 12 month limit or a total amount / condition) - PDSA do one for (from memory) £2k, £3k and £7k / year - I only had the £2k at the time (as I was temping and skint) but it worked fine for me - although personally I've now increased this.
http://www.pdsa.org.uk/how-you-can-help/pdsa-pet-insurance would be interesting to see how this compares with AF.
Ohhhh - and I see you attracted comments from the resident "stirrer" on the board (please ignore him, he does his best to wind everyone up!)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Ooh, stirrer? Dish the dirt!!
I don't like it when people do this - we're all in it together, let's be nice!
Have a good day Cleggie, do something good, and remember it to tell us. And, only buy anything you need! I'm following Florenceem's example for May, feeling good about it at the moment...

Hi guys.
Sorry i havent been on, i have been busy revising.
I have spent a fortune over the last few days...BUT its all been planned.
£1140-Debt
£20- passport photos
£175- passports
£125- 1x school trip
£40-1x school trip
£80- Hoiday clothes and suntan lotion
£230-Kids beds
£70.67-Asda shop (store cupboard)
£91- CC
£80- Counselling ( 1 month)
£15-DWP
So grand total of £2066.67!
Oh, and an extra £118 from sports direct, for clothes and shoes for all 3 of us (desperately needed, and dont think thats an awful amount for 3 people).
BUT, although i have next to no money left, i know i have paid pretty much everything i need to.
I got my bursary this morning too, so may take the passport and photo money out of that fund instead, as its holiday related, as is the clothes spend.
Am going to get a friend to countersign for the passport forms, send them off, and then i'll book and pay for the holiday straight away. That way i dont have to worry about spending it by accident!
I am trying to work out how much spending money i will need to take with us. As its going to be AI, i wont have to worry about food or drink, but we will want to buy some souveniers etc.
I am thinking there wont be any need for more than £300 for the week really.0 -

Just the one of the unhelpful people who seem to get their kicks from winding everyone up (there's always at least one on a board).... he's rarely downright nasty in his comments - they're just ..... unhelpful and unnecessary IYKWIM
I'm away to check out Florenceem's thoughts for May - need inspiration (and cheering up) as I've totally boogered up the budgets this monthand am going to be absolutely skint in May!

How exciting Cleggiewell done (again) on getting that debt cleared:j - re spending money, if it's AI then you shouldn't need too much tbh - it will really depend on where you end up going eg are you likely to go on any day trips, is there a fun park that you'll take the kids to one day etc.

Thanks Rising, how are you doing?
Yeah, i am thinking we will do some day trips out, but mainly it'll be relaxing around the pool/at the beach. I really cant wait to jet off!0 -
I just posted a few days ago, that I'd be following Flo's lead of only spending about £40. Then a few others said they'd give it a bit of a go too. I just figure that she sets a really good example, and I could do well to follow it for a bit!
That's what I mean by Florenceem's May thing.
Well done on spending all that money - I think you did well to do it all in one go, otherwise it would have been frittered away on this that and the other, and be gone before you knew it. Or is that just me?!?!
Take care, and let us know where you decide to go on hols. I'm really excited for you!
