On a DMP - did you ignore letters from lenders??

(sorry for cross posting this, I just need a fast answer)
I spoke to CCCS today and queried am I meant to make a 2nd round of £1 token payments to my creditors as they are starting to send out "your next payment is due by xxxx" emails, well Barclaycard anyway and RBS have slapped a £12 late payment on my account even though I sent them a £1 token postal order, which they have credited against my account
CCCS said not to worry as they will be all soon be getting a slice of my DMP monthly figure that is due to come out of my account on the 1st March (after the creditors are expecting payment off me). They won't get their slice until March 25th when CCCS give them all there share
I may owe £27k, but have never missed a payment in my life
I know my credit record is now shot to pieces by being on a DMP, but I am getting stressed now as I don't want "none payment received" showing up on my credit file
I am sorely tempted to send them another £1 token payment each.
Anyone else been in my situation please?
Thank you.
Can't breathe properly again, getting so stressed......
I also asked CCCS if I needed to send them copies of letters I had received from the creditors, as I have been scanning them in at work and emailing them to CCCS with my DMP ref. number, the girl seemed quite blase and said you can if you want, but you don't have to as long as you keep a copy for yourself. Very reassuring
Do my creditors also send the same letter they send me to CCCS then?
Getting very confused and not sure what to do
She also asked if there was any money in my RBS account, I said no, I'd transferred it all to my new account, just leaving the £198.99 overdraft amount owing.
She said good, we'll now write to them. But I still haven't written them my I am in deep doody, going on a DMP with CCCS and here's a £1 token payment towards the overdraft.....
I still can't get my head around this tiny overdraft being one of my debts, and CCCS will offer them like 74p a month until cleared
Need a lie down, no honestly
Bad evening, can't explain, bye.......0 -
Hey Rochdale Guy,
In response to part of your message, we did send a couple of our creditors two token payments due to where the their original payment dates fell. TBH, it probably makes naff all difference in the long run, but if it makes you feel better then send them another pound each?
Try not to panic, it's only natural to have ups and downs, it really is a rollercoaster getting started. Try to focus on the positive steps you're taking and look forward rather than back.

Thanks SAAC, thing is, like I've bored you all with before getting another 7x £1 postal orders is gonna cost me £10.50 excluding any postage, whether normal or recorded delivery. Some of the first batch still son't show up as having been signed for and I have heard absolutely NOTHING from OPUS card, MINT card, The Royal Bank of Scotland card or BARCLAYCARD
Well, Barclaycard emailed saying next payment due by, and RBS slapped the £12 late payment fee on my account. But nothing else.
The only good people seem to be MBNA and NRAM (Northern Rock), but having said that, NRAM wrote today saying:
I can confirm our agreement to accept your payment proposal over 12 months with the first installment being £15.53 due on 28th March (which is hopefully what CCCS will send them!). Please note the reduction in your monthly payments will extend the term of your loan.
It is important you maintain this temporary payment arrangement as failure to do so may result in your account being passed back to our collections department for arrears action etc etc
While we have agreed this temporary payment arrangement, should your circumstances change it is important you contact us immediately
Temporary payment plan? (my emphasis above). I hope thats just words as I cant magic up the remaining £2,500 in 12 months time

I don't even open them now, they're in a big pile in the cupboard. CCCS are dealing with them and as far as I'm concerned that's the matter dealt with. I open the odd on to check balances, but that's all.0

Re the temporary payment agreement, it may just be that they will re-assess the situation annually, I think youll find if your finances havent changed for the better next year they will offer you another 12mth temporary repayment agreement.
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x

I didn't bother with the token payments at all when I took the DMP plunge, I knew I'd be getting letters (threatening and otherwise) and my credit rating would be trashed by the incoming defaults (though bizarrely, only two creditors have gone with this option in almost 2yrs, the rest have put a note on my file that I'm on a payment plan. Not sure if this is better or worse when it comes to credit rating but once I get clear of my debt I'll never have it again anyway - lesson learnt!).
When the acceptance letters started, nearly all said they'd do it for 12mths then review but like others have said, it just rolls on from there. Now and again I get a letter about arrears on different accounts but I believe they have to notify you of this once a year by law so I just file them with the rest.0 -
Re temporary plan......we still get an occasional letter like this. well nore like annually when our budget is due review. Chill it'll all come good honey. All we mainly get is cc statements each month. So i check that interest is still frozen, the balance is right and then just file them.

I got a solicitors letter today demanding payments of full credit card balance within 14 days or they will instigate court proceedings...im scared now
I have to wait til Monday to speak to my debt advisor to see if Lloyds have accepted my offer of payment. Im in Scotland, so its a DAS, and all correspondance goes thru debt advisor at the beginning, so I have no idea if anyone has accepted our offers or not, but to read this letter it sounds like no,one has been in contact with them. Do u think this is still just a next step/standard threat letter?
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x

Thanks FeeFeeDee, your words always reassure me things aren't as bad as they may appear.
