On a DMP - did you ignore letters from lenders??

First of all A BIG thank you to you all for words of advice and support, and an apology for not replying sooner. Tbh, after I posed the question I was too scared to read your replies....which I know is really stupid, but I felt so sick with worry, I was scared that I'd read it was really bad news....anyway eventually I read them, then last night after some russian courage in the form of Mister Pierre Smirnoff...I googled the 'solicitors' name....
Turns out, as I think eyeopener2 had suspected, they are the debt collection dept of Lloyds, under the name of SCM solicitors, I found that they have only 2 offices and 3 solicitors.
So, I'm just off phone with my debt advisor. As I'm in Scotland I'm under DAS and everything is done electronically for me by her. By the tone of the letter I received it sounded like they hadnt had contact with anyone....this is true in a way, because all messages are sent to the insolvency teams (even tho its not insolvency Im applying for), not debt collection departments. So, IGNORE IT and all other letters....was the advice!
Not one of my creditors have replied accepting my DPP (debt payment plan) but they now only have until 6th March to do so, if nothing is heard from them their agreement is deemed accepted. I have now been given the name of my payment distibutor and should hear from them shortly after the 6th as to my payment date. I will be relieved when the first payment has gone, because under DAS you dont make any token payments at all.....so as far as Lloyds go I havent paid them a bean for 4 months now....so I dont blame them for all the calls and letters I suppose.
I've just felt everything was escalating and I was losing control because I was getting more and more letters and phonecalls. The debt advisor explained its because Id missed no payments with any company except Lloyds, so as I was seen as a good payer the minute I missed one they are right on my case. Understandable I guess, but God how I hate the sound of my telephone ringing!!
Thanks again for all your kind words and advice, its all very much appreciated, and good to know I'm not alone!!
Well done, and way to go FeeFeeDee :j
You must feel a little better having made that call?
Understandably, considering your circumstances, I do believe you suffer from both:
telephonophobia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_phobia
and also
Nomophobia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nomophobia
.... but that's just me being a smart @rse, and we all know nobody likes a smart @rse, right?!
But well done again! :j
One hurdle cleared, still a few more to go go :T

RE Telephonophobia...Yes I reckon I do suffer from this because....
'Another reason is the sufferers may believe that people who call them bear bad or upsetting news'
....that probably goes for most of us at the start of our debt free journey!
Thanks for the congrats...you noticed it took me til mid-morning to call then? lol
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x

Sorry, I should have cleared that up! Thats exactly why I suggested you might have that, but as you quite rightly put me in my place (someone has to!), that probably does go for most of us at the start of our debt free journey's!
Hey, it doesn't matter when you made the call, you did it!
Now, where can I find a lost puppy icon? I do seem to follow you from thread to thread, ha ha! :rotfl:
Notice how my 'thanks received' to 'posts made' ratio is so low? That's cos most of what I say is total waffle, but I am genuine and wish everyone on here well on their journey into freedom.
Well done, and bye.0 -

Yes, I noticed that...:rotfl:
Haha, it's ok, you, me and a few others all seemed to have our LBM at the same time, so we're coming up against the same problems or worries at the same time! So, as long as you're house trained and don't chew my slippers you can keep following me lol:rotfl:

Well, I haven't sent any extra £1 token payments, don't see why I should now (even though it's eating away at my conscience as I have never missed a payment or witheld one ever).0
