So basically you weren't cut out for the job, and now you want compensation??
I've worked in kitchens/restaurants, and yes it's a fast paced line of work, often with a lot of pressure. Not everyone has the ability to cope under pressure.
Dangerous? Not if you're careful and follow basic safety procedures etc...
As for the OP, accidents happen. This could just as easily have been a customer whose coke slid off the tray whilst walking to the tray stacking thing. Inconvenient, yes, but sh*t happens!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I don't think the second poster wants comp they just want to get there 2 days pay[FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

You really need to be dealing with the store not head office imo.
I would just go in and ask for the cost of the dry cleaning. If you have the receipt then take it with you.
I wouldn't harp on about your day being ruined etc though as it 's your local Tesco! It surely can't have been that traumatic driving home and getting a different jacket before setting off again, can it? Personally, I'd have left my oh and dd in the car and just ran in, changed the jacket and got back in the car! That would take, ooooh, 5 mins max.
Basically, just be clear that you want the money back for the dry cleaning and forget the rest and you should get some satisfaction, I'd have thought.0 -

We sat next to the clearing unit as it was busy , there was no space and my young daughter needed feeding, so out of neccesity I guess. Any business that has the public on its premises has a duty to do risk assesments to ascertain where problems could occur, this is why you normally see these trolleys in bays, as this stops things falling off the back onto people, so I guess at this point they have not done what they should have.
No you are right I have'nt acknowledged that I didn't see this coming. I didn't see it coming, I had no wish for my partner to be covered in coke, if I knew it was going to happen I wouldn't have sat there. However just because you can potentially see a risk doesn't mean there is a lack of fault, you get in your car each day and know there is a risk of injury or death, but this doesn't mean an insurance company won't pay damages. As I say I am not interested in an Injury Lawyers Are Us case just dissapointed with the level of customer service you can expect at your local Tesco.
Have you actually said to Tesco that you'd like to be reimbursed for the cost of dry cleaning?Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
Why didn't you move the trolley into it's bay? or was that someone elses job?!0

i think company's are getting that many people trying to claim off them for minor things that anyone who complains they think here goes another compo claim.
although you say you arent interested in claiming compo, it probably sounds like it to them.0 -
I know the feeling about dissapointment with tesco and that standard apology email and wahts with the no direct number to head office? We recently odered a bed online and obviously seeing no problem with the order got rid of our original 1 only to find that 8 days later they call us to tell us it's been discontinued and all they could do was offer a refund I am however contacting citizens advice and trading standards about this as there was no problem when we ordered it if I was you I wouldnt put up with it and no your not over-reacting stand your ground!!0

This thread is over a year old, I should hope the OP has sorted it by now.Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0

In the absence of any other answer, could you get advice from the CAB? Or,write to the company (recorded delivery)telling them to pay you within 14 days or you will be referring the matter to your solicitor. www.eurestuk.co.uk their website with contacts0
