What to do BEFORE someone dies

My darling Dad died 10 years ago, although we were close we were never the sort of family that spoke about our feelings. He was taken into hospital with heart problems, after 5 weeks his consultant told us he wasn't going to get better and only had a few weeks left.
My Mum didn't want Dad to know this. I wrote him a letter telling him how much I admired and loved him.
He read it, said that's nice, but I already know. I still well up every time I think about it.
But I am SO glad I had the opportunity to tell him, while I could.:hello:

My mother died very peacefully a month ago. She was only in her 50s as well
It's been a steep learning curve because no one sits you down and tells you what to do. We are getting there and are in the process of ensuring that my fathers finances are well managed.
I have learnt to keep off my paperwork in order, keep my passwords in a safe location and keep some money to one side that can be used for my arrangments and is easily accessible. I know that you can have funeral plans in place but I don't want that. My mum - bless her - wasn't blessed with the 'organised' gene as we are finding paperwork all over the place!0
