Lenovo warranty rip-off

Hi
Well, the warranty for my system is due to end so I decided to extend it for another year. I called tech support but to my surprise they said that the only way to extend the warranty is to do it on Lenovo web site. Unfortunately there are no options available for my system to extend the warranty. I called tech support again and explained the problem, buy they said it is because my computer is out of warranty four months ago. I have bought my computer 22.02.11 on Lenovo web site so it is within one year but they disagree. I have receipt and packing slip with the date on it so I know the truth date. They advise me to send an email to ukwebsales@lenovo.com and ask for warranty extension, unfortunately the address doesn't work anymore so no reply.
I cannot extend the warranty and I have no one to speak to about. This is my first Lenovo pc, before I always had Dell's and I have to say it is like comparing Chinese democracy with customer rights in USA, different world.
They still dispute about purchase date even if on Lenovo web site you can see the invoice and the purchase date.
Unbelievable!
UK Websales on 0844 800 0550 or email ukwebsales@lenovo.com doesn't work
Tech Support on 0844 249 1112 is helpless, they don't want to connect me to supervisor, they gave me another email popuk@medion.com but no answer.
Well done Lenovo!
Regards, Jakub.

This belongs on the Praise Vents and Warnings board, as it's not a question, just an opinion.
Besides, they don't have to offer you any kind of extension.0 -
Hi

I'll move your post across to the appropriate board. Thanks for letting us know

mattyprice4004, it's not about warranty extension but about the fact that my computer is out of warranty 4 months ago! My computer had only 8 months of warranty instead of 12. I don't care about extension but about customer rights to 12 months warranty.0

We had the same problem with HP. In the end they asked us to forward the purchasing details which we did and they altered their records and then we could extend the warranty. It was lots of hassle, as we had to keep resending things, but we had a fault with our laptop within the warranty time and as they were saying it was out of warranty we'd have to pay, so I fought on! Then paid to extend the warranty in case their fix it didn't work! Hope you get it sorted.0

Where'd you buy it from?
If from a reseller, all Lenovo know is the date it was sold to the distributor / reseller, not the end-user (you)Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -
I don't care about extension but about customer rights to 12 months warranty.
But in the UK there is no legal right for to 12 month warranty.
Although this is normally given by most manufacturers or retailers they don't have to, but your rights under the Sale of goods act gives you plenty of protection for faulty goods, and these SOGA rights last far longer than a 12 month warranty.0 -
It has been bought from Lenovo, on Lenovo web site. I can log on to my account on Lenovo web site and see the invoice, serial number, my name, address etc. There is no "but, if or maybe", they are breaking customer rights, and doesn't care about it. The Chinese democracy has arrived in europe.0

What consumer rights are they breaking?
You haven no consumer rights to a 12 month warranty...Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -

The 12 months warranty was part of the deal and was included in the price. Without warranty I would not buy this computer. If you sell and advertise something you should provide the service.
Jakg, I don't understand the point of your comment, if you think that the Lenovo is right by not providing the service, send them your CV, they are looking for people like you.0 -
I have just been in contact with the tech team , they were very helpful and in 5 minutes , organized too send me out a new wireless keyboard , as mine is faulty, very impressed. thanks0
