We got Married & we planned in 3 years in advance because we paid for it ourselves - well actually my Mum bought me my dress - I hated taking that amount of money off her knowing how hard she works & never spends a penny on herself!

I agree! if a couple want to get married, then they should foot the bill!! The more expensive a couple feel their wedding should be, I question why?? Bit cryptic, sorry.0 -
I echo what has already been said. No one should be expected to pay for anything in this day and age. If you want to make a contribution, fantastic, I am sure it will be gratefully received. Getting married is really a lifestyle choice, as is having children or deciding to remain single. There is no need for anyone other than those that have made that decision to pay for it.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off
