Your the ones that want to get Married if this Marriage relies on other funding it then put back your date & start saving up.

We got Married & we planned in 3 years in advance because we paid for it ourselves - well actually my Mum bought me my dress - I hated taking that amount of money off her knowing how hard she works & never spends a penny on herself!

I agree! if a couple want to get married, then they should foot the bill!! The more expensive a couple feel their wedding should be, I question why?? Bit cryptic, sorry.

I echo what has already been said. No one should be expected to pay for anything in this day and age. If you want to make a contribution, fantastic, I am sure it will be gratefully received. Getting married is really a lifestyle choice, as is having children or deciding to remain single. There is no need for anyone other than those that have made that decision to pay for it.
