A couple of months ago, we had solar panels installed by SolarEnergy4Free. After only a couple of months they are now broken. We have tried ringing them for the last three days and it always goes to answerphone. We left a message and nobody answers, and their website has also gone.

Anybody know anything about them, was wondering if they are still in business?

Hi we have also been trying to contact this company without any joy!! We had the free solar panels installed in December and have had no contact since regarding a contract/welcome pack etc. (as promised!!) There is a mobile number I have for this company (07980296370) but it goes straight to answerphone. I have now turned off the solar panels , hoping that they will contact me as theses panels won't be generating any income for them!! Did you have the free panels installed?

SolarEnergy4Free is owned by Matthew Pomfrey. His other company, Synergy Building Services Ltd. which won an award for innovation and design, are now in liquidation.

You could try phoning his fellow director and accountant, Adrian Cunningham.

Interesting, I actually spoke to him yesterday, but only after contacting the regulator. He doesn't actually answer his phone, nor does anybody else at the company. I asked him to send an engineer out, so lets see if he actually does it or not.

Their website also doesn't work, nor do any of the companies landlines. I pointed out to him that he is actually losing money as well, because the panels don't work.

Yep it was the free panels, so I am not out of pocket, except for the increasesd electricity bills that is.

Since they breached the contract by not fixing the panels, I wonder if I could pull them off the roof and flog them on ebay?

Can you explain how solar panels can increase your electricity bill? What are they doing? Acting as lights???
