What an awful website! It looks like it was designed by some drug-crazed script kiddie! It does everything wrong! All the moving images and drop down menus* make the site unusable and very slow to navigate.

It gets it wrong right at the top of the page, the clock is completely unnecessary as all PCs have a built-in clock and it takes up far too much screen space - requiring even more scrolling.

There is a very faint pause button in the top right of the advert panel.

We don't want flashy adverts, all we want to do is book a train ticket! Compare with Virgin Trains, they have adverts but not annoying ones. Which site would you prefer to use and buy train tickets from?

    * These are the menus that drop down without a mouse click and take up the full screen. Usually triggered when you move your mouse out of the way towards the top of the screen. In this case triggered by moving the mouse away from clicking the new tab. Is there any way to stop this behaviour?

Blimey M8...you got it spot on:T Are you a Web Designer by any chance?:D

I agree with every single word so I can add nothing.

I will try Virgin Trains next time though. We travel down from Machynlleth to London Euston a lot....so we usually travel on a Virgin Train from Birmingham.

And the Virgin Trains are far nicer than....... (Arriva. That company usually has a crap reputation anyway).

Plus, I always did prefer Virgins:rotfl:

    No offence meant.:D

PS...just had a look at the Virgin Site...now that is better.
You've heard the budget speech now you've been told. Make lots of cash then die before you're old 'Cause we're gonna Tax Gran that's what it is We're gonna Tax Gran freeze her allowances. I loathe animations. Links to Twatter and Prattbook too - they all take too long to load. When I find a site overloaded with these, I simply go elsewhere.

    Retailers take note!

    YES THEY DO!
I've stopped reading sky news because of the stupid banners, particularly the ones at the bottom, yellow flashing titles.
They think they are clever because they've outsmarted Adblock Plus, but they didn't think that the people who went through the bother of looking for and installing an ad blocker, would not appreciate having ads back on the site, and would just stop using it.

forcing ads to those who don't want them ends up in losing traffic, instead of upping income... sky news please learn...

    rant over...
