April 2013 weddings

The only problem was a few things ended up running a bit late, and so if I were to give any advice it would be put your foot down to people around you. For example, we only had one wedding car (as we used the rest of the money to put on coaches for our guests) so it had to take my mum and the bridesmaids to the church and then come back for me and my dad. My dad and I kept saying to my mum that they needed to leave but she has this weird thing about not getting there too early because she didn't want people to see the bridesmaids. So they ended up leaving too late which meant the car was only picking my dad and I up at the time that the ceremony should have started. This meant the ceremony finished later than it should have, and so the pictures outside the church finished later and we arrived at the reception venue later and had less time for photos, drinks and canap!s. That hour of photos felt very stressful and I didn't actually get all the photos I wanted to because their just wasn't time.
Oh my god - this literally could have been written by me! EXACTLY what happened to me too!!Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

I'm a very late poster to this thread but I get married on Sunday and was looking for any advice people can give me!
Little things like how do you walk down the aisle? Is it one step, together, or just normal?
Do bridesmaids sit or stand?
Who leaves first.
I'm trying not to stress out about everything but it just seems to be creeping up so wuickly I can't help it!0 -
Congrats girls who've got married since I last posted!! less than 2 weeks til mine now, eeeeeek!
Final fitting on Weds, haircut on Thurs, meeting Master of Ceremonies on Saturday, mani-pedi after that, oh gosh, so much still to do!
Marley, they're good questions, I have no clue! Perhaps one of our married ladies (!) can help out xLover of languages, handbags, travel, my Border Terrier, my husband, cheese & gin. Kicker of cancer's butt. Not necessarily in that order0 -
Marley, are you getting married in a church? My answers apply to a church....
- we walked down the aisle just normally, but slowly
- bridesmaids sit when the rest of the congregation sits and stand when everyone else stands
- OH and I left first, followed by bridesmaids, best man, ushers, parents, then everyone else.
Good luck with your wedding!! Don't worry - the priest/officiant will tell you what to do all the way through. We had no idea about any of this but we just got guided all the way through0 -
Just popping in to see how you are all doing.
Daisy - hell yes we want photos (well I do anyway). It is really weird popping back on and seeing familiar names - takes me back to last July. And OMG I can't believe you broke your foot - poor you!!!

Thank you very much for your advice! it's not a church wedding it's in a hotel. I really hope there is someone to help us through it. I feel really anxious and nervous at the moment about standing up in front of everyone!
My goodness it's stressful! Can't wait for Sunday morning
Congrats to all that have got married this month/in the next few days! All the best for the future.0
