Oh my god....you can't make it up....the morning of my wedding and at 5.30 am I tripped on my pyjama legs and twisted my foot....which is now blue and swollen to twice the size, I can't get my wedding shoes on or walk!!!!!!! And I am getting married in 3 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From someone who broke their foot New Years Eve and still can't walk I have totall empathy for. I know what it must look like. OMG!!!!!
Can you get a trainer on or not? Mind I think you'll be walking down aisle now, as I type this, but hope all ok.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Well, Daisie will be a married lady by now! I hope her foot recovered in time for her to walk down the aisle
Scared1 - you are NEXT!!! How are you holding up? The weather was mostly sunny today so I am hoping it's going to be nice and sunny for you
I had an entire body wax today ready for honeymoon and OMG, OUCH!. We were supposed to make up the centrepieces but I felt really tired this afternoon and ended up falling asleep on the sofa for an hour. I didn't post about it but the other day OH realised that the shirts we bought don't have cuff link holes, which wouldn't have been a big deal if I hadn't bought OH some stunning svarovski cuff links he had fallen in love with and bought some for my brother and the best man as part of their present. Fortunately my seamstress came to the rescue again and has made little holes and only charged us £10 to do all three! OH gave her double that.
Centrepiece materials are currently spread all over the living room floor ready for us to have another go tomorrow. OH has gone out with his friends tonight, part of me didn't want him to go but the other part of me thought it would do him good and also give me some time to write out thank cards, wrap a few gifts and try and finish off the things I want to write in his groom journal. Our tables are named after our holidays and each table was to have a little album on it with a description of where we stayed and when on the front, just blinking realised I have no pictures from our Egypt trip printed.....currently debating between rushing into town to get some printed or just ignoring it, I doubt anyone will care!
I got the last few alcoholic gifts in Tesco last night and also bought lots of naughty treats to go in the suitcase for honeymoon. I have been told my little hand painted candle holders will be ready tomorrow and then hopefully I can pack up all the decorations and take them to the venue dresser, then they will be out of my hair completely. We have booked our favourite restaurant for dinner Monday night and then I am having my spray tan afterwards. I feel like I just want the wedding to hurry up and be here now so I can empty my brain a bit :rotfl:
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

From your description I kiinda thought it was. Its amazing how a small 'twist' just breaks it....... Mines still broke in the cuboid but metatarsil has healed - yey!
I am soooo pleased your day was amazing. I was thinking of you all day. Are you having a honeymoon? Will your foot hinder things? I'm lucky in that ours is in December, surely I'll be able to walk then ha ha.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Oh Daisy, I can't believe you broke it! Well done for getting through the day, I'm sure the adrenaline helped! Glad that everything else went perfectly, I imagine you had great weather too, very lucky! Look forward to hearing/reading about it & hope the broken foot doesn't ruin your honeymoon plans.
Who's next on the list? Can't believe I've been married over a week now! Can't wait for our honeymoon next week0 -
Well, we did it!!!! After a night of no sleep at all, mild panic attacks during the morning and visions of passing out in front of the registrar, we had a truly amazing and magical day yesterday!!!
The weather was gorgeous (although a little bit windy on the sea front!) and the whole day was just fabulous!! I can see what everyone means now about it going too fast, couldn't believe it when it was over!! The whole day felt like it passed in about an hour! Crazy!! If only days at work would pass so quick! Just wish I could go back and do it all again!!!!!
Thank you to all the ladies (and men) on here for all your words of advice, help and suggestions throughout the months!! I hope your day was/is as magical and wonderful as ours was, just try to take everything in and pause every hour or so to just look around at people and take it what's happening! And try to take 5 mins just you and your new hubby, alone, to talk about the day. It's amazing what they see that you miss, and its good to find out what's going on in their head too!!!
Good luck ladies and thank you!!!!!!!

Hi everyone
Hope everyone is doing well. Congratulations Sexybabe and Gem
I think when I get back from honeymoon I'll do a proper big post about my day with pictures. But just a quick update....yes, I did break my foot first thing in the morning! I was glad I had bought three different pairs of wedding shoes because I ended up in my lower heels...no idea how I managed it but I walked up the aisle, did all the photos, did the first dance and even did two ceilidh dances! I ended up sitting with my foot up and a pack of ice on it for a few hours during the evening but it was fine because I could watch all my guests enjoying themselves and people kept coming and talking to me.
I don't regret it at all but it hasn't done me any good walking on a broken foot all day - I am in so much pain nowI have a big boot thing rather than a cast which is very lucky because I can take it off to go in the pool! And I have crutches which I am still getting the hang of. They gave me codeine in the hospital as I am severely allergic to NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin etc) but oh my goodness - it made me so ill. I was vomiting all evening and had excruciating stomach pains. I couldn't even keep down water. What with my foot and then that, my new HUSBAND (:D) and I still have not even *ahem* christened our union! :rotfl: which is a bit surreal! will have to see if I am up to it when we get on honeymoon!
Lots of pictures are going up on Facebook now and they are so amazing. Can't wait to see the professional ones.
We had an absolutely perfect day, despite the foot. Everything went well. The only problem was a few things ended up running a bit late, and so if I were to give any advice it would be put your foot down to people around you. For example, we only had one wedding car (as we used the rest of the money to put on coaches for our guests) so it had to take my mum and the bridesmaids to the church and then come back for me and my dad. My dad and I kept saying to my mum that they needed to leave but she has this weird thing about not getting there too early because she didn't want people to see the bridesmaids. So they ended up leaving too late which meant the car was only picking my dad and I up at the time that the ceremony should have started. This meant the ceremony finished later than it should have, and so the pictures outside the church finished later and we arrived at the reception venue later and had less time for photos, drinks and canap!s. That hour of photos felt very stressful and I didn't actually get all the photos I wanted to because their just wasn't time.
However....it was still an incredibly perfect dayeveryone said how nice the ceremony was and how lovely it was that I was just beaming from ear to ear the whole way through.
And the weather!! After weeks of terrible weather we were so excited to have beautiful sunshine, no rain at all and no wind and not too cold! It was amazing
Right, I must attempt to get down the stairs as my mum is bringing some things round for me. We are leaving for honeymoon soon
Hope everyone else has as good a day as I did! (But hopefully without any broken bones...)0
