Did a search on argos again looking for the double pack and I could not find it.
oh here
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6832526/Trail/searchtext%3E301.htm black XL cartridge, xl is the high capacity usually high capacity means double.
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6832533/Trail/searchtext%3E301.htm colour XL cartridge also states on the page 6ml, could mean 6ml per colour, its the way it says Ink cartridge capacity 6ml.
using this search link on argos brought up all the HP 301 cartridges.

I assumed it was the double pack http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7020100/Trail/searchtext%3E301.htm <that you bought.
according to HP the standard Black cartridge is 190 pages whilst the XL black cartridge has a yeild of 480 pages.

HP make 5 choices of purchase for the cartridges for your printer.
The standard in black and colour and high capacity (XL) in black and colour are the four individuals.
There is also the multipack, but this is a pack of two standard cartridges, not the high capacity. The XL's are only available as individuals (from HP).
If you have ordered HP original multipacks, then they are the standard sized ink.

had to do a google search for a UK seller, last time i saw it was on QVC, found it on amazon.co.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00006BCCI/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0002KEYM8&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0P1MMDZDWCQ526YQ7PHK for £6.99
click on the buy icon on http://www.inksaver.com/ and then click English takes you here http://store.inksaver.com/ and the price is shown as $35.95 and yes that is a Dollar symbol.
due to the fact my cartridges only cost 72p each i stopped using it. that and the fact i'm currently running windows 7 which is a fresh install, and i dont print very often, on my xp pro which had inksaver installed and due to not printing very often i stopped it loading at startup, and always forgot to start it prior to printing. But it worked very well, a little to well. how it works is simple, instead of the data going to the printer first, it takes a look at the picture data to be printed, optimizes the colours and then tells the printer to use less ink, but keeps the images looking as good if not better than without it being installed.
i did quite a bit of printing for my sister and so turn it on. some game walkthrough she wanted. about 20 A4 pages. using compatibles 18ml each, used about 1/4 of the ink if that. all i know is i used the cartridges before that and was still using them 6months later even with the documents i was printing.0
